@steemgigs Always Ran

It been long since @steemgigs had an update on its blog. The truth however is, it has been on-going all along but we started to focus on creating an interface. 

Overall, we know that the power of @steemgigs is "the steemit reputable of community great minds" and this formed a core part of our evolution. 

It has been a long road! The endeavor started here on steemit in small waves, by means of #steemgigs and has been on-going ever since. 

Beauty has happened on this route! 

Many steemians begun their steemit career to a Steem-Gig. Indeed they found their first home in it, upon arriving on steemit and realizing almost instantly, that their expertise can be put to extra use, even upon steemit, by means of a regular blog post under #steemgigs. 

They started off, offering their expertise as a service towards reputable steemians, in exchange for steem/SBD, all, while honing these expertise, reviving their existent vision upon the decentralized steem blockchain and forming part of potential history by helping build the dreams of others.

Hahaha, they also got rewards for blogging about the entire experience!

We have taken it slow and managed some success; "from a delegation from the CEO of @busy.org, to successful & testimonial steemGigs, to a measure of steemit growth, to successful hiring etc. In every case, "reputation" has been upheld, thus, proving that a freelancing marketplace is attainable on a blockchain.

Altogether SteemGigs, is beyond a freelancing marketplace. Its paradigm is also designed to accomplish steemit growth as we acknowledge steem as the most potent decentralized endeavor, when it comes to impacting lives, transcending locations and bring about equality and freedom.

The above sentence practically defines what we represent. When it comes to success, we want to touch every nook and cranny of Earth; leaving no one out.

Thus, we have kept evolving over time and seeking ways to accomplish boundless global impact. Our aim is to keep taking steem/steemit to the masses, by resounding to them that "everyone has something to offer!" 

To accomplish this, we attempt to remove all barriers to entry, when it comes to expressions of innovation, gifts, talents, expertise etc and this led to the birth of #untalented here on steemit; a curriculum designed to help each one tap into their inner abilities, while expressing these abilities without reservations.

To have more reaching impact, we manages to create the beta version of the most historical human bot.

We have been a core believer in the potential steemit and we have also created the "steemgigs" witness, which has been running for months now.

And we are working on a full RPC node for steem!

It Is Time For The SteemGigs Interface

With the SteemGigs interface already having more than 800 members in its discord community and with the never-ending support of steemians like @stellabelle, @kus-knee (who has an ongoing series of SteemGigs), @andrarchy & @lovejoy (who have expressed love for the concept and one of whom has requested an interface), @papa-pepper @kevinwong @donkeypong @virtualgrowth etc; "a Steemgigs interface is at hand!"

How Far Have We Reached?

First we have the domain https://steemgigs.org, which we will be using for the interface. 

As for the interface, more recently, we decided to change the whole model of the interface and try something more adventurous and perhaps, more risky but with the best of intentions. 

We like to use this post to implore feedback!

Before now, we had a working interface, that pulls directly from the steem blockchain. (Pulls were made from #steemgigs and #steemgig).

We also waited for Steem Connect version 2 to be full blown and we were able to integrate that on the interface. 

There was also a custom editor specialized for freelancing, to incentive the use of the interface and allow SteemGigs posts to get published to steem, to appearing in just the right format, so that these posts can easily be pulled, categorized properly and be searchable both on steemit and on the SteemGigs interface.

Additional intention was to create custom editors for steemit posts as well, (with varying difficult levels) to create further incentive for steemians in general to use the interface. 

This additional editor was to be targeted at steemians, especially the newer ones, offering them tools to create higher quality steemit posts. 

Overall, every user on the SteemGigs interface should be able to interact directly with the steem blockchain e.g view posts, vote, comment etc

More recently, we decided to change the structure of the interface, to integrate a centralized aspect to it, in a bid to aid steemit growth. 

A WordPress Model

Speaking of freelancers; especially evident after months of interaction with the SteemGigs community and obvious feedback from successful #SteemGigs; we see that they have a special need for a profile or portfolio, separate from their steemit profile. 

Among other things, "Steemgiggers love to do steemgigs". Especially with steemians, other factors come into play when it comes to offering services:

There is a community!

Yes, SteemGiggers are reputable too and especially loving. 

Too, they have come to a realization of community as a power on its own, thus sometimes, a steemian can offer a service to another steemian, to gain respect, connection and reputation, moreso, than money! 

Ultimately, a steemian freelancer is way different from a Fiverr or Upwork freelancer!

Taking the above and many other factors into consideration, we are attempting to go a newer route, by mixing some level of centralization to our steem decentralization and this is where WordPress comes in.

A WordPress will allow us to develop a more mainstream interface, that we can use to appeal to the masses of non-steemian freelancers, to host them and hold them in, while seamlessly bringing them on to steem.

Basically, they will be signing up to a WordPress interface, like they would, with any social centralized interface out their, with a repositories of their profiles hosted on the WordPress database. 

However, upon setting their profiles, to perform eventual actions like publishing their posts, unlike Fiverr, that needs an approval process before each gig is published, we will have them do a one-time approval process, which will be:

This will also be a requirement, whenever they get to that stage in their profile creation, involving payment set-up. This portion of the fill-up form, will require that they enter a steemit username, thus, redirecting them to https://steemit.com. The beautiful catch is:

They will sign up and it will be pretty seamless

Upon landing on the SteemGigs interface, all the perks of decentralization will be evident on the interface, in the form of "about" blogs, reviews from steemians who are already using the interface & steemit and FAQs etc. It will also be social as there will be direct messaging and instantaneous evidence of community.

One beautiful thing is, SteemGiggers earn from even the posts constituting their SteemGigs. Yes, apart from money paid to them for executing a service, their #steemgig post in itself earns: See this #steemgigs testimonial from 6 months ago:

Perhaps, we will have support in the near future to support each valid #steemgigs post. 

This is an additional perk for non-steemians who join @steemgigs and we will actively pass this knowledge across to them

It is amazing how even reviews or testimonials of successful steemgigs earn.

Upon seamless on-boarding of these freelancers onto steemit, they can now tap into other uses of the steem blockchain, benefiting from connections attained while accomplish services on behalf of other steemians and perhaps, spread the news of their new found success.

We are hopeful to use conventional ADs as well, to promote the @steemgigs interface on its own, to accomplish further steemit growth.

Non-steemians who visit SteemGigs to look for a service or looking to hire a SteemGigger, will have the option of joining steemit.

The SteemGigs interface will have as many capabilities as allowed by steem, down the road.

The payment system, will make use of the reputation system of steemit. It could also possible to integrate Steem Connect V2's escrow services.

Steem Connect integration is very key. 

We are still in discussion on whether to make the endeavor open-source to allow for contributions from steemians. To accomplish this route, we will have to go lay our bed on @utopian-io. In every way, this can be a plus!

Conclusion

Discussions are under way. Deep down, we like the harder more testimonial route, thus, we may decide on going two routes; or start up with a working alpha version, in the next few weeks, while up-scaling over time, into a two-in-one type interface (decentralized + centralized) favoring seamless steemit growth.

This is a special and exciting update as it gears things up.
