Would you attend a virtual Steemfest in a virtual world in a place called Steemland?

What would you want in a virtual Steemfest in a virtual world?

Virtual Steemfest could be help in a virtual world so anyone could get to it without having to tackle hurdles of traveling (costs). Would be hosted in a virtual world that anyone can visit with a computer capable of running the virtual world viewer.

Dozens of steemit users could come together as avatars in a virtual world. Next matter would be what to showcase everyone who comes to virtual Steemfest. Possibly various blogs of users who reserve a spot and those that attend. Maybe some presentations. Some of these could be live. These could be set up with images and links to websites. Part of what is there already are some tools that are listed on steemtools.com.

Thinking we could build tools to help users learn about steemit and help them learn about different things in a 3D environment. Users could look at various blocks like billboards and go over to the ones that look of interest to them. This could be ones that may be helpful in learning about different aspects of using steemit.com. Or how to better format posts on steemit.com to increase readership. This is an extension of the ideas of #steemprentice of which I am a member. Thinking a 3D world could present things differently to users that will help in learning and also growing the community.

Maybe you would like to feature your art in a virtual world Steemland / Steemfest. Using this potential example we could build a museum of art of steemit.com users. Then visitors could check out all the different artists by clicking on one of their pieces of art and being redirected to their steemit.com blog address where more of their posts and art could be found.

Visitors of Steemland / Steemfest could earn Steem / bitcoin

Anyone who comes to Steemland / Steemfest could earn steem and/or bitcoin by participating in the gamification of visiting steemit blogs, resources, and tools. This could potentially be a way to help reward newer users that struggle to earn steem during their initial steemit.com invovlement. While also helping them learn how they can improve their steemit.com success much like the idea of #steemprentice.

Comment below if you would like to contribute to Steemfest / Steemland

Please feel free to comment below with your thoughts. As the potential overall idea(s) of Steemfest and/or Steemland would be of its potential users and eventual users who are you the users here of steemit.com.

Thank you very much to @officialfuzzy for my invite to #beyondbitcoin hangouts.

Although I have not yet spoken on the Hangout due to having noise or whatever at my location at the time. Look forward to talking on the Hangout hopefully this week! Much thanks to @sykochica for speaking (up) for me and her mentor initiative of #steemprentice. Please feel free to check out posts for more information and join us in the steemprentice chat channel if interested, if you may want help or to help in a group that helps everyone be more successful (with steemit.com).

You may vote for my comment to: [Guest Signups] Beyond Bitcoin Hangout #178 - 10/21/16 - (RSVP to Friday's Hangout - Past Payouts and Signups Inside!) to have me, #steemprentice, & #steemland featured on the #beyondbitcoin Hangout.

Come to Steemland to mine blocks of steem by learning about steem(it)!

Do you have a post about the advances and accesibility of VR tech for the average person, at this point in time? That's an area of tech I'm totally out of loop with the news.

I do not have a post of such. Maybe could make one in respect to the VR of the VW I am referring to. Can understand some one being out of the loop of such knowledge. This idea is based on a virtual world. Maybe someone may offer to help with a video for demonstration purposes. Otherwise I will explain more in depth sometime.

I ask not just from curiosity, as it might promote this iidea better. As I dont really understand what this is, but am interested. The host for the virtual world doesnt have much for info on this either.

Info on hardware requirements and cost would be interesting.
all I can add is that I would discuss it in the comments, upvote and resteem that type of content :D

VR for Consumers 101?

I'd attend a virtual SteemFest, and maybe even perform in it! This sounds so cool.

Great @tatianamoroz , already follow you on twitter as @Steem_Land would love to have you perform if interested! :)

Sounds very interesting, I'd certainly attend as I already have said viewer and region if needed..

Will check out the chat channel and see if I can help...

Sure!, Have set up Steemland chat channel although just used for link sharing until things move forward.

This is interesting so would you need to buy a ticket to attend ? upvoted.

Would potentially be free. However depending on the overall demand we may need to restrict access so that users would enter and leave periodically. This is because virtual simulators can only support so many avatars at once. Such ticket could still be free with a reimbursement plan as part of the idea is to reduce barriers including cost.

On the other hand as opposed to trying to be free which some thing will be. The plan may be to sell tickets / passes for some part of the virtual Steemfest. These factors will be better determined as overall supply and demands of this idea become known.

grand idea :)

It's a really cool idea, and yes, we may already do it, using Second Life!
Let me know what you think about it :)

Yes we may. My thought was YrGrid since it uses bitcoin and is cheaper than Second Life. There are advantages of both that may be considered.

Didn't know about YrGrid, downloading it right now!
The problem with Second Life is having to deal with silly Linden Dollars, quite useless :)

Hardly anyone knows about YrGrid as opposed to the much more known SecondLife.
That is the problem. Why I chose YrGrid which is open to more freedom which we here at steemit appreciate.

I am trying YrGrid and came to Steemland.
It really looks like a SL clone, same UI and environment.
My doubt is: how many users online?
Recently SL dropped to 40k users average, which is less than the Steemit community!

Yes it is a SL clone initially. YG has recently done more changes. Users online is small.

This could be another big platform to make money and share Steemit.
Upvoted and following.

That is part of my potential idea.

Yeah, I would go to a virtual steemit meetup for sure!!

Great to hear!

I have actually tried getting online with this using a viewer for ubuntu but ran into some issues when creating my account and actually logging in.

The available stardard viewer I believe is for Mac and Windows. Maybe a lighter client might work called Radegast.
Edit Update: There is a download for a Linux viewer here.

@virtualgrowth: look for "abut" (about) in this post.:-)

Abut about two posts.
Thank you @ace108
