Where as the saturday of Steemfest next week will be a "plenary day" in one venue, we figured it would be nice to switch scenes and activities for the sunday thereafter.

After a somewhat later start to get you up & running (unless you will join @saramiller's Yoga Session at 08:30) we invite you to board the classic Canal Boats for a tour along Amsterdam's Golden Century Canal district and up the River Amstel and the IJ main waters before docking in the heart of Amsterdam's Oldest neigborhood: De Wallen or Red Light area.

The main road Rokin and Damrak run along the original course of the river Amstel. These two roads meet in Dam Square which marks the spot a bridge was built across the river in 1270. It had doors which were used to dam the river at certain times to avoid flooding. The Damrak then became a harbor and it was around this area that the red light district first appeared. The walled canals led to the names De Wallen and Walletjes (little walls).

Historically because of proximity to the harbor the area has attracted both prostitution and migrant populations and these are the features it is best known for today. ^{Source: Wikipedia}

1. Ultra De La Rue
Talks & Coffee & Chai Latte

In this very unique cafe & store (in a former brothel) small session will be held by @xanoxt, @anasaya, @mrs.steemit, @spectral and @clains. Additionally you can grab a coffee or chill a bit in a cosy environment.

2. Quartier Putain
Art at Steemfest (1st floor!)

Grab a coffee or tea and check out the Steemit artworks on the first floor! You can also find @fairytalelife here doing live drawings! Contact her to have something made for you!

3. De Koffieschenkerij
Real Dutch Pancakes

@roelandp's brother and dad will bake family recipe dutch pancakes for you. Come by and taste some! It's not like those Americain Fluffy Pancakes. These are whole wheat no-fat crepe like pancakes. The wheat is grinded by windpower in the family owned windmill in the south of Holland.

4. The Old Church
Explore Amsterdam's oldest building

So Red Light Mashup is situated all around the Old Church, you might also want to peak inside! It's the oldest building of the city and features beautiful windows and a gigantic innerspace. Take the english audiotour (you can already preload it on your mobile):

5. TonTon Club
Arcade Games, Beers and Red Light Tours^⚠

Visit TonTon club directly in the sidestreet of the Old Church Square and play some retrogames: airhockey, jenga, sega games, racers and pinball machines! Also the Red Light Tours depart here every hour.

6. Old Church Tower
Magnificient view of the city, quite the climb! ^⚠

Next to visiting the main church you can also climb the church tower, visit the bells and learn more about it. This guided tour is very exclusive: only 6 people per half hour can go up the tower. On the top you have a beautiful view of the city. Climb the tower starts on the hour and on the half hour.

Red Light Mashup ends at 18:00 / 6 PM after which you have 1:30 hours to get to the Volkshotel where we gather in the Houten Zaal for a closing dinner!

You can easily get to Volkshotel by grabbing the Subway 51, 53, 54 at Central Station (or Nieuwmarkt, even closer to the Old Church Square) for 2 stops. Just take a single ticket (1.50 EUR) and 2-3 stops to Wibaut Straat, which is in front of the Volkshotel!
