Being submissive is not been poor or been weak, it is the ability to remain humble despite of any achievements, wealth, experience or even position of Power. A very common thing to see the poor or homeless man or woman to look extremely humble; but what happens to this individuals when the page is turned?

COLLEGE

There was four college kids, they lived off campus in the block but separate apartments. Three of them were so close because they share almost the same curriculum and lectures, one shared just a couple of lectures with them. So on some particular days, the four students have to go to the lecture hall together and they have a regular route they all take each day they have lectures together.

A group of three guys and one lady, this four college students were all on scholarships with just a few semester left to graduate. The guy who shared just few lectures with the other three is from a poorer background, the others ain't so rich but fair financially. So he works part-time to meet some ends needs, so he always used the same route they all use for the days they share lectures to and fro from his workplace as a bar attendant, and one each days of going and coming from work there was and old frail man who had been seen there for a couple of weeks now.

Charles(Fictional name for the working college student) always greets this old homeless man, who was at first unfriendly- ignoring the hello and waves from Charles. Later on he managed to flash smiles back at him and then wave back, on lecture days while the other three are absorbed in talks and ignored the old man, Charles stayed back a bit to greet and chitty-chat him, even though he never told Charles his name, he was happy hearing about the younger man's stories and family details. This went on for weeks, sometimes in the night on his way back from work, the younger man buys some Donuts or Hamburger with Soda for his older Friend for dinner. Discouraging for a couple of days because the Old Homeless man wasn't touching his free meals, in the end Charles started noticing his token offering were now accepted after seeing some empty soda bottles around the Homeless man's spots.

ILL LUCK

At some point, this four students lost their scholarship and they all need to pay tuition fees before a certain date, it was a period of distress to the four young students. Each of the three friends keeps calling their families for help, but Charles had no one to call- his full salary would not cover half of the tuition fees of their degree programs.

For a couple of days, he was moody and down cast each time he passed by his old Homeless friend, the older man noticed the sadness in his younger friend every-time he managed to go closer to say hello to him. The Homeless man asked Charles what was wrong one night and he explained all that had befell him to him, the old man said nothing but smiled and waved him goodbye- so Charles went home.

DEATH

A couple of days had passed and Charles had been ill and unable to go to work, then over that weekend Charles was rushing to work so that he could see his friend too, from a distance; he had noticed police officers crammed over something that looked like a dead body. Charles with impulse rushed to the spot and saw the lifeless body of his old friend, the Homeless man with a small duffel bag across his chest and a large envelope protruding at the corner with Charles name boldly visible on it. The Old man looks peaceful in this state but his younger friend was in immense sorrow, by now Charles had been crying and shouting "that's my friend, that's my friend" with tears all over his face.

One of the female cops was asking who "Charles Roberts Hinnick" was- Charles turning around upon hearing is full name and address. He struggled to talk, and waved at the same time "That's me",
one of the other cops at the death scene asked him "Are you his son?" Charles paused before responding with a nod!

The envelope was passed to him as the body was been secured in a body bag and taken away to the morgue. On the cover on the envelope was Boldly written together with Charles full name "The Last Will and Testament of the Sojourner".

PAGE TURNED!

All the while, Charles was in the Police car following the dead body of his dear friend to the Morgue without opening the envelope, sobbing. On his way back home using a train, he opened the envelope which made a small tearing noise. Inside the will, it was written- "I own nothing while am coming to Earth and i shall surely not take anything with me: therefore the little i have i pass it unto Charles my companion and friend till my dying breath"

Behold, in the will of this dying old man who was depressed and left his home to be on the Streets was an estimated estate and Bank account worth $3 Million...The price earned for been Meek and Humble!
