AWKWARD MOMENT "INTERVIEW"

Most people are guilty of this; looking down on cleaners and office assistants and clerks when they go for Black collar appointment. This cleaners, Janitors, Clerks knows this too for a fact that their work is under-appreciated and makes visitors and even other employees of the same office pay no/little attention to them day-in-day-out, and in some cases treating them less humanly.

In today's life lesson, just 15% of the story is fictional. The rest of the 85% is a true life experience of a young lady fresh out of college due for an interview in the busy city. She had been preparing for days prior to her scheduled interview day and for what seems to be a dream job considering the company that summoned her for screening. The day finally came, she had woke up early; dressed up in her neatly dry-cleaned purple jacket with set of polished shoes and a neatly brushed and packed hair.

By 7:50 am, she had gotten to the gate of the forty story Building Head Quarters of the Insurance Giant that had called her up for interview for the post of "Strategic and liquid Assets Broker"(If there is any post like that). She was averagely mannered to the Securities at the entrance- Probably because she knew she had to be searched before getting a visitor's pass, so she was uttermost modest to the security team.

Getting out of the elevator to the last floor, It was a little past 8:00 am now and she quickly want to get settled in before anyone else- if there was any. Finding the Reception, she sat down in the Glass-designed chairs in a corporate manner with her legs crossed, checking her wrist watch at intervals. Few moments later, an office cleaner; a lady with a blue over-all coat and a Polythene cap with a pair of Glasses came in with a bucket of Mops, Liquid cleaning solvent and Air-freshers bottles.

The lady cleaner with with a soft tone greeted the young lady which she mumbled a response without even looking up to the half covered face with dust mask. Then in that soft tone again, the cleaner ask her to please excuse her to clean the section the younger lady was sitting . Little Miss sunshine sparked up saying:

"Hey lady, as you can see i have come here very early for a very important appointment. And if you had taken your job serious you would have cleaned this place before hand."

"Startled, the Cleaner lady moaned to defend herself; but all she could say was But Miss...."

...a door swung open from one of the shut glass doors, a man in clean shirt and tie came out of it holding a tablet/iPad as he walks closer to the cleaner and said "Ma'am; we have a go ahead"

The supposedly cleaner had removed the dusk mask as she was looking at the Screen of the device like she was reading something, without looking at the young lady who had come for an interview twice; the man signaled to her and said "you can leave now miss"

By now the lady cleaner had beckoned to the man and ask him to loosen the buttons of the over- coat she was wearing and handing the bucket and it's content to the man. Little miss was still standing there startled when the sharper and now commandeering voice of the Then cleaner lady; now looking somehow like a Boss called her back to life with "Young lady please leave the company premises"

The Country side HR Director had disguised as a cleaner to conduct a behavioral interview, she had conducted 4 already that week and all had failed in the same or similar manner. The young lady now in tears, trying to plead. Before saying a word the Elevator sound echoed and the sound of boots could be heard from the Marble corridor, the man- the special assistant to the HR Director had called security to escort the manner-less Little Miss sunshine out of the office Premises!
