The garden visitor

Among the other things that happened this week, something strange happened in our garden too.
We had a new visitor.
I didn't take a picture of him because of the potential danger of something happening to this old phone of mine at any moment, which is running out of space anyway (I don't take pictures with it anymore). So I'm showing you old pictures of the neighbor's cat, the gray and white cat on the right that I told you about recently, along with one of our cats, the gray and white tabby on the left.

Why am I using these particular photos? Because the visitor in our garden strangely resembled the gray and white cat of the neighbors. And this species, this breed or whatever it's called, you know, is not that common. Or at least I haven't come across many specimens. And that made the situation even weirder.

So, earlier in the week we were in the garden when we heard a very pitiful meow from the street.

The village is full of street cats and we avoid feeding them because until recently we had 3 big cats, whose feeding is not cheap.
Some of these foreign cats come simply to eat our cats' leftover food, mark territory, or fight with them. They are quite cheeky and very aggressive so I usually chase them out of the garden in an attempt to protect our cats.
But this time the meow was different, the cat was different, and I instantly took out two bowls, food and water, and set them on the sidewalk in front of the house.

I know I shouldn't do this but this time even my boyfriend didn't say anything to me or try to argue with me.

This is because just recently one of our three cats, our beloved one, went missing. Just like last year our other favorite cat disappeared.
I won't go into detail here about what's going on in this settlement. We know nothing! But due to the reason that something bad happened to our beloved cat, I immediately decided to feed another foreign kitten.

So it only took a few minutes for the kitten to venture up to the food and eat it - it was hungry. Then it entered the yard. Then it let me stroke it. Then it let my friend stroke it. Then it met our two other cats - they were not happy at all... but I was already making plans in my head.

The first thing I fearfully tried to find out was the sex of the cat. This was not clearly visible then.
I remember the first time I saw the neighbors cat. I remember how amazed I was, wondering what gender he was. You could see how big he was, it was clearly male, but he had no balls and it really confused me at the time because I couldn't imagine that anyone in Bulgaria, let alone in any village, let alone in this part of the country, someone would castrate a male cat.

Then when it became clear that this cat was indeed a male, I was like "wow, these people are really smart to have their male cat neutered". Well, as I told you last time, it's debatable what the intellectual state of these people is, and it's not even about intelligence, because very few people in the country, even intelligent ones, know that cats should be neutered, at least the female ones.

However, now, reflecting on recent events, I realize that they kept this cat for most of the year locked up in an apartment. They might just have been forced to castrate him.

Anyway, our new visitor had balls. So it was a man after all, and I was relieved.

I dare not think what happened to our cats that disappeared. Do they live somewhere else, in someone else's home? But I can imagine how difficult it is when you get a cat from the street - how do you take care of it, what do you do for it, how can you find out how it has been treated so far, what pills it has been given, if it is female, if it is neutered, etc.

But I was already making a plan, I realized that there would be no need to castrate him, because the kitten is not a female, the rest would sort itself out somehow.
We weren't going to get him neutered, firstly because this isn't our cat after all, secondly because the neuters of two of our male cats didn't go well for some reason.

The kitten stayed with us, then tried to enter the house with us, then stood at the door in the kitchen and meowed, demanding to come inside.
Well, our other cats live outside too, and this beautiful kitty clearly had another home, a place to sleep, and the fact that he was now standing outside our door was no longer a drama after we fed him.

The next day, the kitten came to the garden at the same time. Again with a meow. I gave him food again, this time he was completely brave, he was already acting like he was at home. He played in the garden for hours, longing to stay with us, then lay down in front of the kitchen door.
The same thing happened again the next day.

I have already calculated what we will feed him for the next few days, what we will plan for him in the weekly shopping. After all, until recently we were feeding three cats anyway. I was already preparing to adopt this kitten, so that he would just stop going somewhere else and stay with us forever. The other cats would take it somehow. Especially in the cold months when it's better to keep each other warm than to fight...

(You can see in the pictures though what a badass the neighbors cat was as he only came to beat our cats who wanted to play with him.)

But no, that was it. Just a few consecutive days of insistent messages: I want to be here, with you humans, to stay with you.
And then nothing. The kitten never appeared again.

Strange things happen in this settlement every day, and I've already given up trying to understand not only its inhabitants, but also its animals...

Nowadays, this blog no longer exists, but I'm still here - passionate about architecture, art and mysteries and eager to share my discoveries and point of view with you.

Personally, I am a sensitive soul with a strong sense of justice.
Traveling and photography are my greatest passions.
Sounds trivial to you?
No, it's not trivial. Because I still love to travel to not so famous destinations.🗺️
Of course, the current situation does not allow me to do this, but I still find a way to satisfy my hunger for knowledge, new places, beauty and art.
Sometimes you can find the most amazing things even in the backyard of your house.😊🧐🧭|

It was really nice of you to feed and care for the kitten
I hope you find your missing kitten someday...you're really a kind soul

I'm glad you think so 😊 You know, even if I don't find them, I hope they're in someone's house, that they're well cared for and fed, as unlikely as that possibility seems. But since nothing is known, I prefer to bet on the positive version of things.
Thank you!
