Condenser Pull Request Submitted - New BlockTrades Buy/Sell Options via the Steemit.com Wallet!
Currently there is a "Buy Steem" link in the main menu, and links to "Buy" STEEM or STEEM POWER in the Steemit.com wallet (under the STEEM and STEEM POWER drop-down menus). I just submitted a pull request to make several updates.
Note - this post describes how the functionality will work if the PR is accepted by Steemit, Inc. The pull request has not been accepted yet, so there is no guarantee the changes will make it to the live site. [Edit] The pull request was approved!!
The existing links will now pre-load the BlockTrades.us 'Send' coin with "BTC" and the 'Receive' coin with either "Steem" or "Steem Power" (depending on whether the STEEM or SP link is clicked) so that users have one less step when buying STEEM or STEEM POWER.
There is now a "Sell" link in the "STEEM" dropdown, so users have the option of selling STEEM directly out of their wallet via the BlockTrades.us interface. This will make the process a lot easier for users who are not familiar with the process of using an exchange.
"Buy" and "Sell" links were added to the "SBD" dropdown as well, so users now have the option to buy and sell SBD directly from their Steemit.com wallet using the BlockTrades.us interface.

I plan work with Steemit to make whatever changes are requested, so hopefully it will get approved and put up on the live site soon!

That's amazing.. Hopefully this gets added for the and rather than the stream as most people are going to be selling only and atm.. Stream is too valuable to be sold.. And not to say the price will increase.

Great, now if it is accepted, I will not have to transfer my sbd to the exchange first that converts sbd to bitcoin and then to my local exchange that gives me money for my btc. The process will be hassle free, also there will be more left for me as there will not be any commissions to pay for exchanging sbd or steem to btc.

The change was submitted to the GitHub repository. There is a process for it to first be reviewed by the Steemit dev team. Then if they approve it, it goes up to the website as part of their next release.
They have reviewed and approved the change, so hopefully we will see it live within the next few weeks :)

This seems like a great idea! It can be confusing for people who are knew to cryptos about using exchanges. Many have never used a stock trading platform, nevertheless a crypto exchange. The simpler the process can be for people the better. I think. :/
