Steem Creators Conference - Making a Sustainable Investment in Well-Being

in #steemcreators7 years ago (edited)

At the @gardenofeden we take the bigger picture into consideration.
We evaluate the pros and cons, the now and the long term, practicality,
ease, flow and how we feel.

When we want to do something, we know there is a way,
so we look to find options that give us the most benefit on many levels.

When the opportunity arose to be presenters at the
STEEM CREATORS CONFERENCE,
@quinneaker, @saramiller and I, found our way,
and we engaged our sustainable uber dank style.

Taking the opportunity to upgrade the Steem experience is
something I HIGHLY recommend.

After enjoying my third Steem Conference experience at the
STEEM CREATORS CONFERENCE in Las Vegas this past weekend,
(Steemfest1 and Steemfest2 were my first two),
I'm here to encourage you to make these Steem gatherings a priority.

Many people say they don't have the time to take away from their jobs,
and many say they don't have the money to attend.
From my experience, there isn't a better use of my time, energy and money!

Once one realizes the payoff of these rare Steem opportunities to come together,
one begins to realize that it is not about spending valuable resources on a conference,
but instead, making an INVESTMENT in the grand potential for living in financial and creative freedom.

It is a rarity that I travel outside the gates of the @gardenofeden.
Other than to visit my two grown children,
I find that there is little worth engaging out there,
as everything at home at the @gardenofeden is always way better.

At the @gardenofeden I get to do what I want everyday,
here are my friends,
the most relaxed and supportive atmosphere,
my inspirations,
my garden, and
the freshest and healthiest food on the planet.

It's hard to find anything to compare with that,
though I have traveled extensively all over the world.
So when I do leave the @gardenofeden,
I want it to be really worthy my while.

This is also true for the other core inhabitants at the @gardenofeden.
Since we wish to make the most of our experience,
We take with us whatever part of our home life style is possible.
This trip, that just happened to be some high-vibe food.

In my travels around the world, I have taken raw foods for my journey.
It's not always so easy when crossing borders, however, to transport food through
customs and immigration, but since this trip was a direct flight from Dallas to Vegas,
no layovers, no plane changes, no customs, it was an easy transport.

Though most people don't really consider taking food with them on a trip by plane, the @gardenofeden crew makes this one of our highest priorities however, and wherever we go.

I picked a large basket of fresh greens, sprouts, chives and flowers, and also several large handfuls of fresh herbs to activate our water while away from home.

We generally make our kim chi at home from scratch at the @gardenofeden.

Basil pesto - we make ours from the prolific variety of basils our garden abundantly provides.

We also took cucumbers, carrots, nuts and seeds, trail mix, power packed whole food date and flax squares, a variety of cheeses (vegan almond cheese, brie, feta, gorgonzola, cheddar and pepper jack), mushroom jerky, a couple varieties of crackers, paleo tortilla wraps, and corn tortillas.

Since I don't eat meat, my repertoire of foods is much more simple to take, though traveling like we did on this trip with buffalo and beef jerky, and smoked salmon did quite fine for our meat eaters. A couple of boxes of noodles made it in our pack too, just in case we wanted to make a Thai salad somewhere along the way.

Here is a little gallery of a few of the meals I had on my Vegas trip.
These little bites may not look like much to some, but when combining so many
rich and delicious, healthful, nutrition packed ingredients, it's easy to fill the belly,
because we can eat as much as we want, we have no restaurant or grocery store costs,
and we can share it with others -- who also gave testament to the joyous feeling of fresh fullness!

@saramiller and I were honored to share a picnic lunch with our @museproject women (@ogc, @lindseylambz, and @coruscate)

Fresh cucumber, pesto, gorgonzola cheese, kimchi, mustard greens, shiso sprouts.

Cucumber slice (which works great as a plate!), pepper jack cheese, kim chi, garden greens and a smear of pesto.

A variety of cheeses--sliced up with one of our Epic Handmade Knives! -- garden chives, cucumbers, shiso, lambs quarter and rosemary crackers.

Paleo tortilla wrap with brie, kimchi lambs quarter, shiso, mustard greens, pumpkin seeds, raw almonds, raisins, and a surprise chocolate chip or two.

Multi-grain cracker, goat cheese, cucumber, kim chi, lambs quarter, and a tamari almond on top.

Multi-grain cracker, brie cheese, kim chi, shiso sprouts, oxalis and malabar spinach sprouts.

At the @gardenofeden we take as much of our lifestyle
with us as we can.
We shared our room, used the open windows instead of a/c,
and we took enough food to sustain ourselves and share for a week.
Our trip was extremely low on out-of-pocket expenses,
and we ate as fresh and healthy as possible under the circumstances.

Making sustainable choices REALLY helped to
make our trip for 3 to Vegas a worthwhile investment,
and helped us to lower our carbon footprint on many levels.

Perhaps you'll find ways to save on your travel
that will help you make it to the next Steem gathering.
The experience is really priceless.
It just must be important enough to make it a priority.
Begin now getting ready--
We want you to join us--
Whenever and Wherever the next opportunity arises.

I just love what you do and how you spread awareness in terms of food, sustainability and so. :-)

Grateful to share with you @sart-universe. It's nice that your open to receive it.

Love the cheese. Love the food. Awesome conference for sure. I missed it. Love the photos. Yummy. Thanks for sharing.

@joeyarnoldvn....you did miss it!!! What the heck were you doing, anyway!!

Glad to share some of the awesomeness with you. These really are priceless moments on many levels.

Haha, I was helping my mom with her garden. I am 33 and am in maybe a mid-life crisis. Maybe in between careers, jobs, or something. Deep in thought.

It is wise to give some serious consideration to life! It's amazing how long we can endure living what doesn't inspire us, and giving value to things that don't move our souls!!! Good for you @joeyarnoldvn for taking this now opportunity to re-think things--I feel quite certain you will be glad that you didn't wait another 20+ years to do it like many people do. Even then they rarely find solutions, but just rebel for a short period of time then fall back into the dolldrums!!! Once one realizes that anything is possible, a whole new spectrum of possibility opens and we are free to truly do whatever moves us, living the life of our dreams. I hope you find that for yourself, and that your experience here on this planet will be one that many people will benefit from.

Agreed, revolution can occur as you pass th breaking point which characters journey through in the Walking Dead for example, as we travel through the storm, we enter the rainbows, the promise land, but it takes the first step, you need to be vulnerable, give things a try, accept failure, losing, as you can also win, and Michael Jordan missed a lot of baskets but became a basketball star.

So true all of that. We need to go out on a limb and take some risks if we wish to experience greatness! Life is forever giving us opportunity. It's all a matter of if we are willing to take it or not! I appreciate your comment @joeyarnoldvn.

I have read so much about @gardenofeden from you guys that I want to visit there more then Disneyland now 😅

I wish I could visit your counry some day and see this garden!!

Oh a GOE festival !!! I feel its calling me. But I havent been out of India ever !! I wish I could be a part of it :(

They say there is a first time for everything!!!!

@quinneaker and I spent a couple of months in India. Took over a thousand photos a day there. What a place!!!

Hehehe. Really !!! I wish to see those photos !! What's there in India to click I wonder :P

Everything different than in the U.S. Life is happening in the open in India--everything here is behind closed doors...everything from sewing, washing dishes, bathing, peeing, eating...the architecture, clothing, traffic....all of it. Every moment is an opportunity to witness.

I have about 4 albums on my FB with some of the pics.

I like what you said about investing on going to Steem conferences. That is how I view it and I feel like I earned it back and then some with the friendships I've made and the inspiring talks.
And there is nothing better than home-grown food too.

We gained so much from coming together---truly priceless on many levels. This investment was indeed a beneficial one.

So @everlove and @gardenofeden had such an amazing time.
I so wish that I could join you someday sooner.

Conferences, food, travel, friendship.... Ahh how better it could be❤

it is a fun reality indeed, and beneficial in many ways. Enjoying the ride!

i haven't been to a steem conference yet, but would love to go! i think its definitely a worthwhile investment, and a good way to meet like-minded people :)

That is the truth for me, @freshee. I intend to invest in doing it again. I hope you're so inspired.

Great food post

Hello @everlove , I was designed to give advice to "steemit" users.

I recommend to increase this;

The most winning bid bot in the last 24 hours is "appreciator"

You can enter "steembottracker.com" to find more offers.

You can make "Resteem" and advertise to the followers of the whale accounts.

"Resteem Bot" for you;

@hottopic

Hello. I liked your post, keep it up. Good luck to you and have a nice day :)

I have always prioritize steemit gatherings. They always make much sense, and the benefits from there are huge, as well as the giving.

Many kick against taking food along, due to the extra luggage. It could be nice, if you have different choices in food, and you are not really sure about the place you are going to.

It seems that Nigeria really has it going on with the Steem!!! You know what it's like to be with family, and we were grateful to experience it this past weekend.

We flew Southwest Airlines and they allow 2 check-ins, 1 carry on and one personal item for FREE!!! It was well worth taking a suitcase full of food to share, to save on the expense and the non-sustainable nature of eating out, and eating healthy all at the same time! Many layers of awesomeness!

That is absolutely wise. It makes you eat healthy and saves cost at the same time.

Being with family has a way of liberating us. The joy cannot be contained, as well as the fun. Glad you had fun. You totally deserve it.

Yes, Nigeria is really buzzing with Steem/Steemit. The meet ups have been huge. So many people are unaware of it and it is a great feeling to tell them, so they can bring up their creativity and leverage on it. No one should wait for what the government need to do anymore. We determine our path by the choices we make and by the efforts we put in.
