Overcoming Spiritual Famine
Famine is a condition resulting from closed heavens. Its attendants' results are dryness, drought, scarcity, failure of the harvest, low yield, adversity, debt, epidemic and death.
severally in the Bible, there were occasions of famine and God still blessed His own even during the famine. In today's economic parlance, it is what is experienced during the economic recession.
In Luke 5:1-11, Peter has no catch after trying all night to fish, but at the direction of master Jesus, he ended up with a miraculous catch that ended the season of drought.
In Genesis 12:10-20, Abraham experienced famine, but in Genesis 26, Isaac his son served in the land during the famine, and he reaped a hundredfold.
In Luke 9:10-17, Jesus thanked God over a school boy's supper and with it, He fed multitudes and there was left over.
God is in the assignment of reversing famine and recede recession when we seek Him diligently and thank Him for His ability to turn things around for good for us.
How to overcome spiritual famine
Give the word of God first place
There is a balm in the word of God that is capable of healing all forms of damages caused by famine.
The word of God is fully loaded with food that is capable of strengthening our physical and spiritual life.
Those that their heart thirst for God’s word never journey through life being thirsty
Be a man/woman of prayer
Devil is always looking for an opportunity to toy with our lives but when he sees that we are always burning in prayers, the surrounding will be too hot for him to dwell in or for famine to take hold.
A man that is prayerful becomes too fearful to be attacked by anything
Engage the Spirit of God as your companion
We need the guidance of the Holy Spirit to always take the right steps that will bring us closer to God and keep our heart focused on Him in order not to be carried away by those things around us that might want to cause our feet to walk outside the ways of the Lord.
The presence of the Spirit of God scared away all other contraries Spirit that might fuel famine in our spiritual life.
It is time to stand firm and never allow anything that will drain our spiritual life.
