What is Quiet Time? Quiet time is a time when you make a personal association or relationship with Christ. It's a time you pray, read and meditate upon God and His word.

Reasons For Quiet Time

Quiet Time helps us have a personal relationship with God. When you communicate with someone for a while, automatically you get closer. You deepen your relationship with God when you do continuous fellowship. You get to know more about what God wants and how to become His friend. Through Quiet Time, you begin to have an intimate fellowship with God and get Him on speed dial. He knows you are His, and whenever you call on him, He will answer you swiftly. Quiet Time builds your association with God and He becomes your friend.

We also do Quiet Time to receive guidance and protection from God. Psalm 119:105 says your word is a lamp to guide my feet. This tells you that, reading your Bible during quiet time, you get to know the word and the word guides your feet. The word of God becomes your guidance and teaches you what to do. Whenever you are confused, you turn to the word of God, and you receive guidance on what to do. Whenever you are confused, you know that you have the word of God and the word of God will tell you what to do. Psalm 119:133 says, guide my steps by your word so I will not be overcome by evil. You have to know the word of God so it will guide you to overcome evil. Quiet Time allows you the opportunity to read the word of God, know the word of God and live the word of god. That's when you get the guidance of God through the word. God provides us the answers to the daily problems we face in life during our Quiet Time.

Quiet Time let us know the Lord's character, personality and life so you can emulate. Reading someone's biography makes you know and understand them, and reading the word of God let's you know who He is. You know His personality and character, so it's much easier to be like Him. You know who He is and what He likes, and it's much easier to take after His character. 2nd Corinthians 3:18 tells us that the Lord makes us more and more like Him. You get to be more like God when you know how God is, and you find out by reading His word.

Quiet Time also let's us carry the out the Lord's work. Quiet Time gives you power and the power of God let's you do the work of God. Thee Bible talks about Jesus withdrawing from the crowd to an isolated place to have His Quiet Time and pray. This gave Him power to preach and heal throughout His stay o earth. If Jesus himself prayed and had His Quiet Time, then we who are mere men need to even pray and do our Quiet Time more.
