STEEMCHURCH - Laugh It Off!

Today, I want to share something that I read from my morning devotional booklet. At first, when I saw the topic of the day it sent a mixed feeling. I didn't know what to make of it, but as I read on then it began to make much sense. The author titled it "Laughter Robbers Must Die" Well, anyone would be confused too. What is the link between laughter and robbers? This will be the question on anyone's mind at first glance.

The truth is one of the weapons we have as believers that throws confusion into the camp of the enemy is LAUGHTER. And someone may as "how so?" Let me break this down; have you ever being in a state where someone is bluffing or threatening to do all kinds of things to you and you will just take a look at the person and smile or sometimes you will laugh so hard that the person will feel embarrassed? Yes, this is what I am talking about. You know the feeling that comes with you laughing to such treats right?

Sometimes, the devil throws a lot at us. He tries to make us feel depressed, troubled, and angered. Over the years, there's one thing that I've noticed about the devil. I've noticed the devil is smart. He knows the things that can hinder us from receiving the blessings of God. So, he tries to trick us into blocking the gifts of the Lord with our own hands. He throws all shades of temptation for us to be angry with God. I mean the Bible says can two walks together except they agree? if you're angry how then can you receive from God? The Bible says He that is in us is greater, mightier, and stronger than he that is in the world.

Whenever the devil tries to raise his ugly head with all his threats just laugh it off. God inspired laugh is one of the tools we can use to silence the devil. We are laughing at all of these because we know it's just a distraction from his part. The enemy wants us to shift our focus from God to worthless matters. Things that truly doesn't deserve our time. The feeling we get knowing fully well that our Father is King and overall should be enough to put a smile on our faces. This should keep us going higher and stronger.

Dear Parishioners, it doesn't matter what we are passing through. It still doesn't matter what the enemy throws at us. What matters is our attitude towards it. Do you know how good the devil feels whenever we cry for his sake? Do you know how much he enjoys the attention giving to him? These things make him feel so good about himself like he is winning, but if we don't give him that attention that he desperately needs he will walk away with the knowledge that "This one will not budge"

People of God, let's try to wear a smiling look. Let laughter fill our hearts and let God take care of things for us if God is not moved with any of these why then should we worry ourselves over nothing? We should always be mindful of the fact that God never fails and that He is never late to any situation in as much as the devil may paint a very horrible image in our hearts. So, keep a cheerful face, be happy and live a life of gratitude. He will surely come and save you.
