🗞 SEC Delays Decision on Wilshire Phoenix Bitcoin ETF Proposal

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has begun proceedings to determine whether it should approve a proposed bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF).

According to a public filing published Tuesday, the SEC has begun evaluating the proposed rule change to allow NYSE Arca to list and trade shares of Wilshire Phoenix’s Bitcoin and Treasury Investment Trust. The companies first filed the rule change proposal in May.

The ETF would give investors exposure to both bitcoin and U.S. Treasury bonds. The SEC listed a number of questions for the general public, including what individuals think of the suggestion that the CME bitcoin reference rate is not susceptible to manipulation.

🗞 Bakkt’s Slow Start Doesn’t Mean Bitcoin Futures Have Flopped

It’s a lively time for bitcoin derivatives – or at least for those writing about them. For those trading them, it may be business as usual.

The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) announced Friday it is preparing to offer options trades on its bitcoin futures contract. It’s a surprising move, because options volume to date rounds to zero, as a percentage of reported volume in futures and swaps.

Still, nobody in crypto has had an options counterparty as reliable as CME before.

🗞 Bitcoin’s Price Crashes $1,500 in 24 Hours, is $7,500 Next?

Tuesday Sept. 24 — Bitcoin's price has retraced rapidly from $9,800 to $8,150 in less than a day for the first time in months.

Bitcoin prices crashed hard — dropping almost $800 in a few minutes to show double-digit losses. It was down 11.4% and trading at $8,150 as of publishing time.

According to data from Coin360, Bitcoin investors are experiencing a painful Tuesday, with BTC/USD hovering close to $8,100. Bitcoin’s rapid drop below $9,800 was the latest move in what was otherwise a slow grind downwards, which began at the beginning of September.

Yesterday, I was saying that we need to check if the support line at 0.154$ will hold us or not. The correction started on the BTC really destroyed our support. We are now a weird situation as we are in position to go test the all time low of the STEEM around 0.07$... Quiet sad to see that but again the market is always true. I expect a symbolic support around 0.10$ but if the BTC decides to make at new correction when we will be around these levels, be sure we will again explode that support. Let's see, it starts to be a nice price to buy some STEEMS, however be very carefull because we could see a little bounce before the DROP continuation.
