The Pace Of Development Is Accelerating

Have you seen SteemProjects yet? This is a site that lists all the applications on the STEEM blockchain.

This is a very handy tool for Steemians to locate applications they might need. The site is being upgraded by the team who is taking a more active role in it.

The easiest way to locate it is the drop down menu in the upper right next to your profile picture and selects "Apps Built On Steem".

When I checked the site a few weeks back, we were barely over 360 applications. Now, we topped the 400 hundred mark.

This ought to give everyone an idea of how quickly the development is advancing on this blockchain.

For example, there are now 73 different interfaces to access the STEEM blockchain. This is a great amount of development especially since we are starting to see some of these interfaces becoming specialized. Over time, I believe we will see a great deal more of this as applications are created to target specific niches.

There is also a section titles "Other" that has a lot of applications that do not fit into a particular category. It is here that we see some of the applications that are going to reach outside the STEEM ecosystem to try and draw in traffic. There are a couple of things I am excited about which will be in my next post.

The reason many of us are having such a tough time keeping up with the new things being introduced is because we are seeing a 10%+ growth rate in less than a month.

From my perspective, as I understand blockchain, this is an important development. The value in a blockchain comes from the community that is using it. This community will only grow and prosper as a result of development. It is the applications that draw the crowds. Over time, STEEM will be stronger simply because of the things the developers hung on this blockchain.

Many fret about the FUD that is being spread. The fact that STEEM is not on the radar is also a concern to people. None of this matters at this point since STEEM should be viewed as a long-term endeavor. Over the next few week or months, it is anyone's guess which way the price will go.

That said, over the next couple years, with all this development, the only place for STEEM to go is up. Another factor in this is the applications listed, do not include some that we know are coming via the SMT such as @appics, @actifit, and @steemhunt.

We cannot project how many applications will be built on here in a given period yet I would not be surprised if we started adding 100+ a month here very shortly. There are just that many developers working on innovative things to tie to STEEM.

In my view, 2018, thus far, was a magical time for the STEEM blockchain. The applications listed on SteemProjects tells me that trend was heading upward. Pricing action will catch up at some point.

There was a post about SteemProjects released earlier today which might give some more insight.

Ah I guess that answers my question. We're going to need some serious data filters/organizers here soon with all this raw information floating around.

Always bring the motivation to all of us, continue your awesome work. ;)

Ouf thought I was the only one. lol And for the informative as always.

Apps being built off Etherium? Okay. Apps being built on steemit? Wait what? Looks like someone is giving Etherium a run for it's money. I guess I should be irritated by this since I own Etherium but.. I can't blame people for wanting to expand blockchain technology even if it's in the form of competition.

Have you thought about creating any Augur prediction markets?

What do you mean?

Augur (ERC-20 token) touts itself as a decentralized prediction market. In reality it's more like unfettered gambling. People bet on the outcome of any event that they want.

I'm not saying you should necessarily bet on future events, but you could be the one to create events in the first place. People who create the prediction markets pay an upfront fee to do so but receive a small fee from traders who are buying and selling on the markets they created.

Seems like something you'd be good at... creating the prediction markets for people to bet on.

This gives me hope for Steem

But this kills my Etherium dream

Excellent article. I really liked it. Thank you for doing STEEM - better. Good luck to you and Love.

Отличная статья. Мне очень понравилось. Спасибо, что делаете STEEM – лучше. Удачи Вам и Любви
