Another STEEM Application: This Is A Really Unique Idea....Potential To Attract A Lot Of People To STEEM!!!!

How big is the deals market?

Before getting to that, what is the deals market?

Think coupons, rebates, or anyone offering a deal on products or services.

Which brings us back to how big is this market? I would say that it is everyone since we all like to save money.

There are many people who like to clip coupons and talk about the deals they find. Now, those people have the ability to earn money for finding deals and passing them along.

STEEM now has an application that allows people to post deals and earn STEEM. In addition, like all other applications on the STEEM blockchain, one has the ability to earn by curating posts and commenting on what is posted.

@blockdeals is already up and running with a website that is tied to the blockchain. From what I can gather one earns STEEM the same as elsewhere, by participating.

What is fascinating about this project is the team behind it understands the value of communities. Their idea is that the STEEM blockchain will grow by a bunch of communities developing in different parts of the world. Small communities can add big numbers when enough of them form.

Why is this approach sensible? It is not likely prudent to go head on after the likes of Facebook, Google, or any other multi-billion dollar corporation. By creating interaction at the ground level, this blockchain can grow without direct confrontation.

One interesting point about this industry that @blockdeals is entering is the fact there really is not a central entity that dominates. Groupon is the closest and even that is not a dominant figure. Coupons and other deals tend to be local like in the Sunday paper or directly from a website. This is something that @blockdeals can leverage.

From an article they posted, the two existing sites that are "competition" draw about 7.5M visitors a month between the two of them. Once again, like all the markets that we see a STEEM based app entering, if we can draw a sliver of those people to this blockchain, it is a major win.

To me, this is one of those unique concepts that I mentioned in a post yesterday. We do not always know the direction a technology will take. I never dreamed of coupons or online deals being part of a content/reward system yet here it is. People now are able to get compensated for passing along savings to other people. That does not seem like a bad deal for anyone.

If the goal of the people behind this project pans out, there will be small communities everywhere of coupon cutters and deal seekers all on the STEEM blockchain. Instead of offering this information for free, why not earn some STEEM?

Just another application that has some potential.

A couple thousand different applications like this and we will see STEEM as a major blockchain. We are already seeing existing entities form that have real world uses.

The development on here is so exciting. The next 2 years are going to be a blast.
