Another Airdrop For Steemians: More FREE Tokens: Another Reason To Power Up: Introducing WIRE!!!!
We know about Vice and Appics putting in their white papers that they are going to Airdrop tokens to Steem hodlers.
Now, it appears, we can add a third token to the mix.
For this who are unaware, an Airdrop is what happens when the holders of one token are given other tokens. This often happens when a blockchain is forked as was the case with Bitcoin (a couple times). This is also the reason why STEEM holders will get the Vice token.
However, oftentimes, the creators of a token will want to give their tokens to others as a way to incentivize them to use their applications. Appics is doing this, I presume, so Steemians will use that app. Having a stake gives people more reason to aid in the success.
The latest Airdrop will be the WIRE token. This is a creation of the Social Wallet team.
Social Wallet is a project that allows the use of cryptocurrency on any social media address. It is a design that is meant to introduce billions to the world of cryptocurrency.
**Now, please bear in mind, I am not advocating for (or against) this as a purchase. They are going through their ICO phases and if that is your thing, perhaps take a look. I bring this up to make everyone aware of what is happening with the Airdrop.

How can we claim all three airdrops that you have mentioned in your post ? Is keeping them on steemit wallet is enough ?
The details havent been spelled out yet....
I would think new accounts would be set up with each and then we have a similar wallet system on those sites as is on STEEM. Vice uses the same coding so it would hold for that also. As for WIRE, I have no idea.

That's pretty cool! My ETH airdrops seem to have dried up lately, so I am looking forward to getting some STEEM airdrops. I wonder though if they will show up in Steemit's UI as seperate tokens too
I am not sure....I guess STEEM could re-work the wallets for that purpose.
Isn't there talk of an internal STEEM exchange for SMT tokens? I'm sure I've seen/heard of this somewhere

Appics was going to be SMT but it took too long so they are using ERC20 for the ICO and then moving over to the STEEM blockchain. Vice is a fork so they are doing their own thing....and I have no idea what WIRE is using.
Yeah, I've been following VICE for a while and there whitepaper and site originally said it was going to be a SMT then they had to switch too. I just hope they get there act together
Yes it was an odd turn of events. Originally it was suppose to be a SMT then, when reading the white paper, I thought I was reading @ned's SMT white paper. It was much of the same content.
Hopefully we see the STEEM developers getting things done soon....we have been waiting for SMTs along with the hard fork for a while now.

I guess WIRE airdrop will occur after the release of the Social Wallet? And then the coins will be deposited into the Social Wallet? In any case, it's great news. 2018 just keeps getting better.
I must admit that I somehow managed to miss not only this news, but also the news about Appics.
I’ve learned to not be too excited about airdrops. I mean, a couple of times I was lucky enough to receive free tokens that went up in value and are actually worth something now, but most appeared to be an empty box, filled with promises. This doesn’t mean I say no to free tokens, though. One can never know... ;0)
I agree....most projects never come to promise. That simply is how things are.
However, I think the Appics and Vice tokens have great potential. Appics is a nice app that is on this blockchain (or will be) and designed to go after instagram users. To me, this is a nice addition if the features are there.
Vice is a project from a number of major porn creators including Penthouse. While porn might not be people's cup of tea, from a financial perspective, it can be a money maker. Plus, it tends to have a huge following.
Even if they go to zero, when you put zero in, there is no loss.
Sadly, porn is hot these days! Back in the early 1980's I dated a guy that took me into some horrible places in hopes I would enjoy the porn. I was too young and stupid to say no. I was shocked at how many people would go into these gross spots for "fun". Bad memories! I'm sure he's got it all loaded up on his computer now.
I can't imagine Vice to fail unless they screw up big time in their roll-out.

Are you sure there's an Appics airdrop due? I've not seen mention of this, even in the whitepaper. It'd be great if they were, but can you point me to where you found this info, please? (hope I'm not missing something obvious!)

I do not know how it will unfold.
There are different blockchains so I am not sure....Appics could be worked into the steem wallet since it is going to be on the same blockchain....Vice is a fork...and I have no idea on WIRE.
I am sure we will get more details as we get closer to the Airdrops actually taking place.
Im waiting eagerly to see my holdings multiply.
Plus, I'm waiting even MORE eagerly for those platforms to start operating at full steam!
And then I'm even MORE eager to see HF20, SMTs and automatic registration process implemented on the Steem Blockchain.
