Resteem-What is Resteem and Why you should Resteem?

in #steem7 years ago (edited)

If you have something I may have missed, please feel free to link it here and I'll add to my list of things to look at here shortly. I can't promise I will resteem it (looks like it counts as one of your daily blog postings), but I can promise to look at it and give you some comments and feedback.

Resteem is the sharing of content you find interesting to your followers .its like retweet button in tweeter and share button on facebook.Your resteem button looks like a bent arrow. If you don't see it, you may need to press F5 on your browser to get it to show up.

Does Resteeming someones post give them more curation,.and also does it act the same as curating rewards at all?.
If you resteem something, it will show up in your blog feed. Those who are following you will see that post. If you have curated that post, then it may be to your advantage to resteem it as well, as it will expose more people to the post to vote after you.

If you have curated that post, then it may be to your advantage to resteem it as well, as it will expose more people to the post to vote after you. It's kind of like retweeting on Twitter if you are familiar. It is like releasing a blog except it's someone else's. Your followers will see your resteem.

Does Resteeming someones post give them more curation, and also does it act the same as curating rewards at all?

The Resteem button can be a great success for someone that is small, new to the platform, and don't have that many followers. If they get ReSteemed by someone that writes regarding the same topics and has quite some followers it could mean that this user will get much more attention. Instead of giving you a share of their Steem, they give you exposure to THEIR followers, and that is a great trust.

But a smaller user can also have some great utility of this function. If you're small and writes about something specific, many of your users will be interested in reading things about this and ReSteeming post from others with the same content will hopefully give you more followers. You will not earn Steem or SBD but rather Followers.
Resteem is just like the way we have retweet on tweeter.

Why you most not Resteem every post that comes your way

Sharing is Good, But Caring is Better ,But there is a two edged sword situation here. You shouldn't ReSteem EVERYTHING that you find. Your followers are following YOU, not someone else. They may find other posts on the same topic very interesting tough, and that's what you're aiming for here. Me, I write about Gridcoin and will most likely not share many posts about baking or skydiving. I will probably ReSteem things regarding Gridcoin, Computer Science and Cryptocurrency.
Always retweet With Caution.
This Feature is very powerful and should be used with great care. If you are not careful it will end up destroying your reputation, declining followers and less exposure. Remember that your success is made by your followers and they are the ones you should care for. Never think you are big enough to not care about that. Great success takes a very long time to build, but can be destroyed in a second and takes forever to rebuild.

CONCLUSION
In conclusion whenever we get ReSteemed by someone that writes regarding the same topics and has quite some followers it could mean that this user will get much more attention. Instead of giving you a share of their Steem, they give you exposure to THEIR followers which could also get you followers and this would lead to more exposure.
So when ever a person resteem a post both the person that resteemed the post and the person that wrote the content gains. For the person that is content got resteemed he gets more exposure .when is content is resteemed, while the person that resteemed the content gets is followers entertained especially when he has not been able to write his own.

Did you enjoy it. Would like to hear more from you , don't forget to resteem and upvote.
Have a nice time steeming.

Thanks @macko for an excellent explanation on ReSteeming - the nuances of curating are confusing at times and this aspect of curation and value-add is well-explained. As a new Steem-er I voraciously look for expertise to curate as I find my own niche of expertise to eventually share here on SteemIt. I would recommend this explanation to newbies and experts alike. Thanks again.

For the life of me, I just can't see that rectangular (Resteem) arrow.

I've tried CRTL +F5 on Chrome and Firefox to no avail. Can you help please with a print screen? 😕

Or have I misunderstood your text "Resteem is the sharing of content you find interesting to your followers .its like retweet button in tweeter and share button on facebook.Your resteem button looks like a bent arrow. If you don't see it, you may need to press F5 on your browser to get it to show up." 😉

Nice post, however you needed to add after 7 days no resteem I was looking all over for this info cause the symbol didn't show up anywhere on posts I wanted to share... guess I'll do a newbie post about it....
