STEEMIT User Interface/Experience improvement suggestions

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

This is such a great site. I have been posting and reading other people's posts actively. But there are a few things that can be done to improve the user experience. I will list a few that I have comes across:

  • There should be a search box for tags on the sidebar where you have a list of tags

When the user enters a keyword in the text box,
a text based search should be done for tags and
the tags related to the and brought to the top so the
user does not have to go to the next page to search for the
        tags he/she wants.

  • When you create a story, it will be great to know what tags are available so you won't have to go to the sidebar and look for the tag you want.

The solution I suggest is when the user clicks on the
tags input field, a box should appear at the bottom containing
all the vailable tags and if the user decides to select one,
on click the tag should be added to the Tags text field.

  • Story text editor should have the options for bolding/highlighting/linking etc (just the things we see on standard text editors). Here is an example:

I will post more as I come across things that need fixing. My apologies if the above things have already been implemented.

Glad to see you voicing your ideas to improve the site.

I think they should also allow you to filter your searches by time posted and weed out posts voted by cheetah bot that are duplicative.

Weeding out the spam would be a fantastic idea!

Yes, there are several improvements that can be made. A slider could also be used to show latest posts that may not be caught/seen by users because of the large volume of posts every minute.

Those are some good ideas, thanks for posting them!
