Steemit for Boomers: How to Withdraw STEEM and SBD

in #steem6 years ago (edited)

In this video, you'll be learning how to convert STEEM and SBD into tradeable cryptocurrency and US Dollars.

This is the first of a series of instructional videos with Baby Boomers and new users in mind.

We know you're smart. But you weren't born with a smartphone in your hand the way your kids and grandkids were. So that puts you at a disadvantage. Steemit has a little bit of a learning curve. Let me help you navigate the basics so you can thrive on here!

Step 1: Open Blocktrades and Coinbase accounts

You will need to have a blocktrades account, to convert your STEEM into something tradeable. This is easy to open. You just need an email and a password.

You will need to have a coinbase account (or some other respectable cryptocurrency exchange/wallet such as bittrex or poloniex) in order to store your new currency and potentially trade it in for US Dollars.

Step 2: Sell your SBD or STEEM

Click on the arrow drop-down menu next to either your STEEM or your SBD and select "sell". A Blocktrades window will open. This is where you select the amount of STEEM or SBD you'd like to sell, and what you'd like to convert it to.

Step 3: Get the address

Go to Coinbase and get the digital address where you'd like to send your purchased currency (we're going with Ethereum in this lesson)

Insert the address into the field on the Blocktrades page. This will generate the option to complete the transaction manually or through the secure "steemconnect" application.

Step 4: Complete the transaction

If you select the "steemconnect" option, it will autofill and complete the transaction for you. All you have to do is enter your steemit username and "active key" to verify the process. You would have to do this sign-in step verification regardless of whether you choose the manual or steemconnect option. So you might as well pick the steemconnect option.

Step 5: Wait

Wait for the currency transaction to show up on the blockchain, and show up in your Coinbase account. This part usually takes 20 minutes, depending on the day. If you are nervous about whether it went through, and you haven't received a verification yet, just go look in your wallet and see if it has been pulled out yet. This will be an indicator the transaction is pending.

Step 6: Store, trade, or Cash Out

You can now store the new cryptocurrency in your coinbase wallet, you can trade it for another cryptocurrency on the same or another exchange you sign up for, or you can sell it for US Dollars within Coinbase (that is an easy step, and you could probably figure it out, but this will be in another video).

thanks to this post we can learn how to make money withdrawal in steemit.

You are doing an awesome job because this will help newbies because most of the newbies in my opinion have the issue of transactions because Cryptocurrency cannot be converted into fiat in one click and we have to go through 4 to 5 steps for per transactions and time taking is another and different aspect, i also use the Blocktrades and in my opinion now Blocktrades try to make every possible update which can make the process easy and in my opinion the recent Steemconnect transfers is awesome and really successful because before it was different where we were taking the memo then we were transferring that from Steemit Platform, but now the Steemconnect reduced all process to two clicks. Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work. Wishing you an great day. Stay blessed. 🙂

I love steemconnect. It's now integrated into steemit.chat, d.tube, blocktrades, and other functions as well.

Either way, if you trade manually, you still have to log in. This interface does all the other steps for you, and when you log in it's the same as if you did it manually.

Hmmmmm. Yes what?

In my opinion everyone loves Steemconnect. Ha ha 🙂

Cool!! Become the Boomer Goddess! Only one suggestion: you may want to put this in a written format. You don't have to write everything you speak in the vid but just make a 1-2-3 step process written in very basic language, so Boomers can see a sequence. Great idea though. Very great. I would consider using a votbot to garner some attention in the beginning. You may even want to start a Discord channel and a separate blog @boomers or something like that. Has great potential. And I promise you the more mature crowd would love you for it.

Great ideas! I'll get on that.

Did three votebots this AM. Waiting for results. First one I put in 5 SBD and got 11.5 back. Not bad. Pllus the exposure.

Have you ever mentored anybody? Asking for a friend ;

Happy to help! You can message me on discord anytime. Here is an invitation to my discord channel, steemitforboomers. Let me know if you have trouble finding it or messaging me. I can help you get set up.

I was just looking for info about the way to withdraw SBD and I found your post.
