Steemit Newbies Guide #1 Posting and Curation - Important to read !

Today I found following question from @praveenchahar on one of my posts:

This was my answer:

"To daily dollars it might take some time.

But daily cents are soon possible.

I really recommend you to struggle through

Steem Whitepaper

to fully understand what is going on in/on Steemit.

I try to sum up some content of it to make it easier to understand for newbies:

1. There are mainly 2 ways of earning.

a) Posting (unique and original content under 'Submit a story')

Post a daily diary, write something about the location you live, about usual or extraordinary things in your enviroment... Things you would like to share with other people... Maybe some jokes, some impressing news, your opinion about this or that... etc. Whenever you quote some content always make sure to mention the source otherwise you might be flagged and loose rewards.

You can post up to 4 stories per Day which will bring you the full 100 % of the 75 % author reward. After the 4th story on one day reward decline (75 %, 50 % etc).

b) Curating: By voting on posts of others you will also get a share of the posts reward.

Upvote content you like.

But watch out... Évery vote will cost you 2% of your voting power. Voting power recovers 20 % a day.

There is also a further important factor in upvoting. From minute 0 to minute 30 after a post is puplished the curationpool (25% of rewards) turns from 100 % author to 100 % upvoters - every Minute 3,33 %.

So vote smart ;)

2. The reward system works like that:

a) for posting you will receive 75 % of the reward the post made in a 7 Days period

b) for upvoting called 'curating' you will receive your share according to your share of the 25 % pool of the curators * voting power * voting weight / voting power * voting weight of the other upvoters of this post - also after a 7 days period.

3. Read through some posts for Newbies. You will find a lot of those - every day there are published some of them.

You will learn step by step... also look at blogs of people with high reputation to find out what they did to be successful.
