Taking Note of these little things could change the steem story.
A home is where we find refuge, comfort, freedom, oneness and love. Steemit was more like a home for most people until things became a little tighter and not the way it was. Well it is only normal to expect change as that is one of the special events that takes place in life.
For some time now, this platform has changed from a place of refuge to somewhere that people do not even enjoy being anymore. Joining steemit, I realised that this was one place where people were interested and passionate about meeting people and actually adding real value to people's lives. There was this bond, togetherness and positive vibes that emanated from this platform... we were more like family and all of a sudden, things started happening and people started leaving and all of that.
People has obviously left because of one complaint or the other, some because of posts not being read, complaints about the trending page and bid bots, attacks and tongue lashing etc; I mean no free speech and freedom, people can not be sincere anymore because of fear of attacks or purnishment through flags. I thought steemit was all about decentralisation?
After going through @timcliff's post, I saw that most people are passionate about how to make this platform come back and steem mooning but it seem like we are side tracking the most important job that needs to be done first. The purpose of the post was how to use social media to get more investors to invest on steem but in as much that is one of the things steem needs for sure, a lot of things needs to be correct firat in our home before we go outside.
Little things that would make big differences that before anything else.
Restoring the power of decentralisation
What is decentralisation when everyone can not be free. People needs to feel safe with their opinions, feel at home and be reaasured that the voice of everyone here is worth something no matter the rank in hierarchy. Wrong messages are conveyed when people begin to feel that if they write or speak their truth might be flagged or lashed out on.
Steemit should be told for what it really is.
Users should be properly informed at the point of recruitment about what this platform stands for and if possible recruiters should have a sense of responsibility for each member that comes in through them.
Everyday, people are joining steemit. Of course it is hard not to broadcast steemit to the world, very hard! But when they come in with the incentive of "get paid to post online" it becomes difficult to handle so many people who do not know the real Value they should add to the platform at the same time. So when some people comes in immediately, spam, plagiarize and get flagged; they feel bad and leave with a bad impression about the company.
My point is that we all should encourage ourselves to treat this place like our home and family. We should guide each other well so that little things like these would not bring steem to the ground.
Investors
This gives me a good opportunity to elaborate more on what I meant on @timcliff's post. I know that steem needs investors more than anything else and am positive that we will get even more than we bargained for if we are ready to put our home in order.
Cleaning up our home means to put down our eyes to see how we can bring back the decentralisation on this platform. It's team work and definitely not a one person job, we all need each other, no side is inferior or superior over the other. No matter how little, everyone has something to offer.
Hence, it doesn't matter the area of concentration- tech or not, we all have something unique to offer to the growth of steemit and steem. With a few of these on check, we would not need to beg investors to come and stay, instead willingly they would come stay because they have seen everything they are looking for which might not be in other places. People naturally will always want to affliate with the best... let thay be our watch word.
We need high level of users retention strategy.
We should answer to the questions on how to get users to feel free, relaxed and valued; stopping attacks and bid bots(since so many people complain about this a lot, something has to be done about it) and other negative vibes.
How do we meet the needs and serve members/users better. They should not be made to rant for nothing, proper attention should be paid to them so that their needs can be met. If not potential and loyal people will go else where. The competition is real on the outside world and it starts with loosing even the smallest member in the community. Everyone is important I keep saying.
We should also give ourselves accolades and not dwell on the challenges alone. Steemit is doing more than we can imagine. Let us focus on our strength and make this platform great. We can not be 100% at a go but we are getting there. Remember that this is just a phase that will pass like every other thing.
I would conclude by adding that love is everything. Tolerance, team spirit, patience and understanding is the spice to the sauce. Never give up, if you lost the strength of good ambassadorship... this is the time to rekindle it. Everyone is valued and our voice is worth something.
I remain yours truly @gloglo! No matter where I go, steemit will always be number one. As it is, I am not a 100% tech savvy and as such would not hide my voice. My opinion and voice is worth something and if that is what I can offer, I will use it well. Steemit is now a part of me and I know it is for most people. Let's face what is in front of us and everything else will fall in line. This phase will pass... I believe it will.
Amazing one here my dear friend you see, I've been blessed by this place I'll never complain of the situations it's going through, everything and everywhere has it's ups and down you know. If bid-bots are here, then it shouldn't worry anybody. Life is not a competition we should do our best to impact others really and that's the most important. Steemit is at a trying period buy we must embrace it nonetheless.
Sweetly written @gloglo welcome back with your beautiful wisdom 😁😁😁
