RE: 'Battle-tested' Steem Blockchain set to kick ass in 2018

in #steem7 years ago

So many questions!

I'm new to all this crypto just to remind you if you can't tell by my dumb thoughts lol.

I use delegated sp to improve my curation and I've been getting it through the market that is connected to my wallet. I'm assuming this is still "steemit". So that when I put in my password - I am still "here" and not someplace I might be scammed.

Then I read a post by someone talking about buying STEEM at the very same time as me "somewhere else" that was 10 cents cheaper. I would not care for 1 cent - but 10???? Any thoughts on this? Why would the market be som much cheaper than "somewhere else" to buy STEEM?

I have nothing set up as far as wallets or anything crypto anywhere but here. I need to get it together I guess.

So - now I have some STEEM just sitting and waiting for me to lease the delegated sp. Currently I'm leasing 7 or 8 sp for 4 weeks (in three parts). I'm thinking to adjust that to 4 leases for 6 or 7 sp each for 8 weeks each. So much thinking for so little value! But of course the value is really in the increased upvote.

In curation news - I'm doing great and expect to keep improving. I can't wait for your next post and soon will have mine - explaining how I promote the posts I upvote and resteem so both the author and I get greater reward. I'm so slow at posting here, but it will come next :)

Start with an account on coinbase so you can buy from your own bank. Relatively easy.
Then get a jaxx wallet. Comes in ios android, mac, windows, linux, and chrome browser extension. That's why I chose this one.
Then move your bitcoin off the coinbase exchange into your own wallet.
Start small so in case you make a mistake it won't be too costly.
All the best,

Hey Joe

Is this Wallet likely to give you this Bitcoin gold for holding Bitcoin?

i assume Coinbase won't be paying out!

Cheers!

I'm not sure what Bitcoin gold is.
Jaxx is a multi-currency wallet. It can hold about 10 - 15 of the popular coins including Etherium, Litecoin, Dash.
(Another reason why I picked this wallet.)
It costs you nothing to download and try. See if your favorite crypto is one they support.

Bitcoin is forking again, it could be another Bitcoin cash moment - free crypto. Coinbase BTC holders saw none of it though, of you are holding BTC I would try to find out if your wallet will honour BC Gold.

Thank you, I get it now. I've momentarily let myself get behind.

No problem. So i was considering getting the Jaxx wallet today and sticking a little BTC in, and the bugger jumped 10%! :D

Do you think I can do this with a Thai savings bank? Or how can I get an international account from here? I can't figure out banking, much less walleting.

And - my son is in California trying to transfer from coinbase to his paypal and can't do it. He gets rejected and they won't answer him for why. The money is in btc, so I'm kind of glad it got stuck now. Hopefully one day he can get it out. He has no us bank either because he blew his up with service charges. We're a financial mess!

It's probably easier if you are outside of the USA to go through the bank/crypto membrane.
In the US, you really need to identify yourself to the exchange (like coinbase) for them to accept your bank traansfer.
I don't know if coinbase does business in Thailand. If not then there are probably other exchanges that do. I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with that part of the crypto-world.

As for transferring cryptocurrency to PayPal. He won't be able to do it. PayPal sees all types of cryptocurrency as a direct threat to their existence . They would do anything to they can to stifle its use.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. In many ways I am just learning myself.

Hi @fitinfun. Truly, it is just normal to have many questions about steemit. Even those experienced with cryptos come here amd truly have questions.

You talked about delegated SP. On here on steemit, what you can do from your account is buy SP, except probably you are delegation from @minnowbooster. Not that buying steem and SP are two diff things; same as leasing steem.

Yes, you can buy steem for less amounts depending on where you are buying from. I guess while buying from here, you were dealing with @blocktrades. Other exchanges have their different rates per time.

Weldone with your curation.

Thank you! curation is the top of my efforts here, so I'm glad to get results. I'm featured on this post

by @abh12345 and eagerly waiting for the next one :)

Yes, I use @minnowbooster. I think it is worth it now while I'm so small, but maybe not later. My .12 cent upvote makes me a fairly big fish down here in minnowland. I'm earning way more sp than I could have bought for the same price as leasing so I feel it's working.

The price is still going down so I'm buying a STEEM a day maybe - then use it for leasing. Still using the market since I'm a technical wimp.
