Kind of Good News? Steemit.com Alexa Rank no longer in Freefall

Shortly after the last Steem hard fork (which resulted in a brief period of posting difficulty due to adjusting to the new RC system), the web traffic on Steemit.com went into collapse.

I made a post about it and compared it to the web traffic on bitcointalk.org, the largest other crypto-related internet forum. Based on the trends at the time, it looked like we should drop below BitcoinTalk in web traffic rank within 2 months. Thankfully that hasn't happened, and while the web traffic of Steemit.com has stabilized, Bitcointalk (in line with most crypto websites) has just kept dropping. That could be an indication of lower interest in crypto generally or perhaps users are moving to other forums.

It is curious and strange to me that the web traffic has stabilized during a period where mostly new accounts were not being created for Steem. Especially given that Steem suffers from very high rates of turnover, and thus relies on a constant stream of new users. I don't have an explanation for this but I wonder if anyone else can explain it. It's also during a period when the price of the Steem token has collapsed, more than typical in crypto, dropping below the top 50 on coinmarketcap.com.

It's often suggested that the drop in Steemit.com traffic is explained by people using other Steem apps instead, but as far as I can see, all the other apps are still nowhere near replacing the lost traffic on Steemit.com.
