#SteemThreads Update: Prototype Tank Top and Hoodie have printed, production design is almost ready! Website coming in 2 weeks, plus a giveaway/contest at launch?
1. A buddy of mine @rkd025 is going to Paradiso Festival this year and asked me today when #Steemthreads was going to be ready as he wanted a shirt for this event tomorrow...
So as some of you may know, I have begun and undertaking I have dubbed #Steemthreads, a project trying to provide the Steem community with a fairly priced, easily accessible Steem/SBD accepting clothing project! My friends are aware of it and one a couple of them will be attending Paradiso this year, and @rkd025 and I got to talking today about how he could start off his Steem Career with posts from Paradiso2017... which got me thinking, why not send him with a prototype #SteemThreads shirt? There was a on demand printer at the mall, and while the quality of the product might not be as top notch as the company we will be drop shipping through, the point was still the same, get Steem in front of eyeballs. So we jumped onto my laptop, whipped up a design and headed off to the mall.
2. So after 30 minutes and a few clever designs we were off to the local mall to get a few things printed with the design we chose... the tank top definitely came out better.
The Front:
The takeaways from this design is that we can go much larger, and much taller in our next design, as it would look much nicer to fill the entire space. We also realized we will most definitely want to offer a more 'basic' design for people who do not want the photography design, so we'll most likely launch with both types of designs and go from there.
The Back:
The back came out rather well, we can still enlarge the text and go much taller though so we can make it easier to read and also make it stick out more so. Perhaps adding a domain below will be more effective as well? Or maybe an area for people to put there own usernames on each shirt? Still exploring these options for customization...
3. These designs, plus many more will be coming to #Steemthreads soon and all will be purchase-able at any quantity for under $25. Hoodies, Hats, Scarfs, Shirts & bags are all on our 'ideas' list.. but feel free to suggest other items you'd like a #Steem logo on!
The initial launch designs will include the above design with some minor alterations, available on t-shirts, tank tops & hoodies. We also plan to launch a more basic design with just the Steem logo, and possibly the back text and/or a plain back, we'll do have to do a poll and see what people think...
Now for the fun part: The #Steemit / @Zappl / @SteepShot / ChainBB / #Steemfest Giveaways & Contests that we can do with this service, all through the power of upvotes!
Soon after launch, we can vastly expand the designs available on the website to include any and all of the cool Steem related designs, memes or even brands such as Zappl or SteepShot, we can do exclusive runs so people get collectable shirts, we can even clothe the homeless via this platform and a little good will, and SBD. Crazy huh? Big plans ahead folks. Stay Tuned.

Just my 2 cents on the design, but the tank appears to to be a little too wordy. Perhaps you could look into a more graphic design that eliminates some of the words with symbols? If you are to stay with the design on the front, a gradient edge around the photo could provide a smoother aesthetic rather than the hard edge that's currently there. But then again, that's just my subjective opinion. Take it as you may! Cheers
I appreciate the input and I'll play with the design fro sure, this is just my prototype and I already see many ways to improve it, I would just hate to have an untested and unprinted design ship at launch and not be happy with it, hence the testing :]
I feel ya dude. Just tryna help out with some constructive criticism! Gotta use all those dang college graphic design classes for something lol. Keep posting future design updates! The design process always goes faster when you have people to bounce thoughts and ideas off of.
I will most a few options as PNG's tomorrow as I need to re-size the design, change some formatting.. ill try some with borders, without borders, fade some out and what not, as well as make it much larger in general.

This is a pretty cool idea....you know, Steemit alone is a good market to really push different alt coins, too. I've got a few alt coin shirts, and i love when people ask about them!

How did you actually print on the shirt? Thermal printing?

I did a direct to garmet print on the cotton shirt and the hoodie we tried a transfer print which is meh, we'll most likely do the final run as high quality as we can, just seeing what the colors turn out like and doing some sizing testing.

Yep! He is just going to a very hot festival and the t-shirt design will be the same as the tank tops, minus the spacing issues so I wanted to get it printed to see it in person first before I go sending of designs & measurements to the company and thats what they ship you guys :P Measure twice, cut once as they say!
