The patch that was talked about has worked and most accounts should be back to 100% with their Resource Credits (rc's). I have done a few comments and votes already and it recovers really quickly.
A post now uses around 0.10% which is literally nothing and before you know it has recovered straight back to 100%. The same with comments and by the time you have posted a comment and read the next post it has recovered.
I think it is early days still as some spam accounts appeared straight away and that was one of the reasons for the rc's, to prevent them from operating. Maybe they need to adjust it down slightly so we get rid of them. I am all for engagement with lots of comments but would also like to see the spammers gone.
This is a balancing act and I am almost certain will fluctuate on platform usage. For now from what we had is super good news, but I for one won't complain if it is still tweaked. I would like to see it user friendly for new accounts so we can get mass onboarding at some point. I am not expecting them to be able to do 50 comments a day but a reasonable amount anyway. At the infancy stage of an account you could only do 10 x 100% votes per day ,so a few more than 3 votes a day with enough comments as well would be way better and even though will be hard, not impossible to grow. Obviously a small investment would help ,but not everyone can afford to do this.
I am just happy to see the platform functioning again and hopefully all the fudders will now keep quiet. What is happening on here is the future of blogging and we must stick with it and just work through any issues as a community. The new rc's will move us one step forward and I am confident the HF20 was the right decision.

sir cryptoandcoffee! howdy sir it's so good to be able to write again! So you aren't one of them that left for weku? I took off but it was to get work done outside, not go to another platform. I'm not saying people should not go to other platforms that's fine but I enjoyed working outside.
And you're already working full time so maybe you just got a little more sleep the last couple of days.
No I am too committed on here to go looking for something else. I just don't have the energy and time to try ad get another account running. Rather dedicate myself to here and I know it will work out fine.
sir cyptoandcoffee! yes sir I agree, it this went down I doubt if I'd try it again elsewhere and Mr.s J sure wouldn't want me to! I hope they get it all adjusted and that it works fine and similar to the way it did before the hardfork.

Rep wouldn't have changed as had nothing to do with the hard fork. Should still be what it was. Worry about your rep on steem -ua.

Would be difficult to tackle spammers and help new users at the same time,don't think any amount of balancing can do that. We watch and wait though
A new account of 3 SP was allowed something like 2 votes and 3 comments which would be hard to grow from so if that was tripled it would be doable and spammers would be screwed.
Do you happen to know, who are developers that are also top 20 witnesses?
There are some but they cannot take blame for this HF 20 as there hands were tied. It is political and now after this I think they will have more say and will speak up.
Edit: even if it is political and they had to push, I believe, there should be some gap between the two (steemit developers and witnesses).
Anyway, just my belief, even if it is wrong, all I would like to know, who they are, so I can vote per my belief. Looks like I will need to try to get this info somewhere else. Thanks.

Steemit inc told them to push. Witnesses are users like you and me. That was not what I was understanding what you were saying. there are some developers who are witnesses but don't develop for Steem.

If we as a group, users, vote more 'non steemit' developers into top 20, then in the future it will not matter how much steemit inc pressure their employees. So it is up to us to try to take away too much steemit inc influence by voting for non steemit employee withnesses. That's my take on the whole situation.
I understand what you are saying. The way i see it we need non steemitinc developers as witnesses which is what we have now. the communication was non existent from my understanding and they couldn't do a thing. I have a feeling the meetings that will happen discussing this aftermath will get it right between the witnesses now. They are not happy what happened and developers will get more involved and hands on now.
