Big in China - STEEM in the Top 10

in #steem6 years ago

Hey Steemians

So I happened to come across this little bit of a win for us, it looks like STEEM is now a top 10 currency in China.

Which is weird since its crypto is kind of banned in China.

Yet it seems that the Chinese government still stays in the loop of the latest blockchain happenings. With this in mind, the government has released a new list of rankings of the popular blockchains.

The list was released on January 24, 2019, by China’s Center for Information and Industry Development (CCID) and has some surprising appearances and snubs.

Clearly theres something happening in that part of the world and I'm glad Steem is getting in on the action earlier.

I really hope that @wherein takes advantage of this and continues to grow in the region. It can only be good for STEEM and all those who support it

Very true. The last list Steem was at 7 and now we are at number 9. From my understanding the ranking is on what they consider the coins that have a future and it is ranked on various things like technology, use cases etc.

Well then it’s still good that Steem is looked at as a viable blockchain since there are so many options these days! It really will be the ones that stick it out that will win! This bear market is testing the resolve of many of these projects

Yes it is good and especially that Steem was ranked number one for technology.

Yo where have you been! Did you go to China?? Is that why are not on Discord?

Lol I go where they pay me, if thats china so be it lol! Nah just end of the month crunch time need to get things done will be back to my normal routine soon

That is interesting and if china changes stance at some point it could be great for us. That is a huge market to be involved in. Obviously a lot of people are still going around the system but it could be a lot more in the future.

Indeed, my sentimenets exactly! we just need to remain top of mind when it comes to blockchain in the region and who knows with @wherein spearheading it in China we could really be primed for adoption should the Chinese government have a change of heart.

But besides that this shows that people are still interested in blockchain regardless of the ban so im sure we'll be getting more chinese users trickling through

If china bans Cryptocurrencies then it's really weird they release a list of the popular ones... Wow! Steem is surprisingly high ranked!

I was also pretty surprised by steem its one of the few non-eastern coins to be on the list

I saw people on Twitter making fun of the list calling it stupid. I found it ironic that these people call themselves crypto traders. To me, I'd be using this list to accumulate the top projects on that list as I'm assuming China is one of the biggest markets in crypto. It is nice to see Steem on there as well as they cut the list off after the top 5 or so.

That’s great News.

Dear @chekohler.

It is truly amazing and motivating to see this news. We know the restrictions that the Chinese government has on cryptographic activity. The fact that we have an "official publication" It is a positive news and that steem is included in that list is even better.
