Elegance - A Decentralized Art Community Platform and A Small Bug

in #steem6 years ago (edited)

I love art. I like painting and photography. I was so excited when I read @elegance’s announcement about Elegance - A Decentralized Art Community Platform. @elegance wrote:

There are already many famous communities and apps built on Steem blockchain like @dlive, @dtube, @dsound but Art community was still lagging behind. That's why introducing Elegance - A platform specifically dedicated to endorse and support all the Artists.

@elegance added:

Elegance is still in beta and just initiating its operations. So support from all the delegators and art communities is highly encouraged. Delegator's reward system will be similar to @utopian-io's model. There will never be any ads or mining scripts embeded in Elegance's website. You can follow @elegance and join Elegance's discord server to see ongoing activities and updates. You can also leave your suggestions at steemit.chat@elegance.

And

You cannot use this platform to publish plagiarized or spam content and it will be highly discouraged. If you artwork is genuine and you have shown some effort in expressing your skills then there is a high chance of getting support on your post by @elegance.

Yes. I liked the idea and I wanted to support it. So, I loged in the website ( https://elegance.blue ) and tried to post something. This was my experience.

CMS Similar with Busy

If you had ever loged in Busy.org, you would find that Elegance’s content management system (CMS) was similar with Busy. CMS was a kind of interface where you could create and modify your posts.

Display of a post was very similar with Busy. If you clicked a post, it would pop-up as a new page. Like Busy, it had list of icons of some social media (Twitter and Facebook) on the right side. So you could share the post to other social media just by clicking the icon.

So, steemian who had used Busy would adapt easily to Elegance.

Markdown Supported

Elegance's CMS supported Markdown code. So you could write your post in Markdown style. This was a good news. Actually I prefered Markdown because I could control my content's display. It was because Markdown allowed me to use some HTML code.

But I found a small bug in Elegance's CMS when I tried to upload an image.

A Small Bug

Steemit did not push you to publish a post with image. Elegance did. You had to use at least 1 image in Elegance. Okay. I uploaded one image and used Markdown code to arrange it.

I wrote like this:

<center><a href="https://ipfs.busy.org/ipfs/QmR4hruLiheR6q634U3k9ZBRHZSvunsG8qyFyVP9z6wdzi"><img alt="" src="https://ipfs.busy.org/ipfs/QmR4hruLiheR6q634U3k9ZBRHZSvunsG8qyFyVP9z6wdzi"></a><br><i>Be sure to click on the image to view full screen!</i></center>

But Elegance did not recognize it as Markdown/HTML code. It said "You must add at least one image before submitting post". It thought I had not uploaded an image.

Image code in HTML

I tried another way. This time I used pure Markdown code in Steemit. I wrote like this:

<center>![mawar8](https://ipfs.busy.org/ipfs/QmR4hruLiheR6q634U3k9ZBRHZSvunsG8qyFyVP9z6wdzi "mawar8")</center>

Now it was success. Elegance recognized it as an image.

Using pure Markdown code in Steemit

Recomendation

I thought @elegance should improve their program because <img> code had used in various platforms in Steem. It was part of standard Markdown style.
