STEEM PRICE JUMPED UP THIS WEEK! Did you notice?? It's up about 4 ¢ this week, a huge % gain
Be encouraged! At the very bottom of Steemwhales.com - I noticed this week we started off the week about 11¢ and now up to almost 14¢ -- if you look at the simple math, that is a huge jump in the week.
I don't track all this stuff like many do, but I check my stats here and there.
How many noticed this? I was encouraged! Remember where Bitcoin and Facebook started out! Because that is sort of a mix we are building here together. (:
I wish I could get my hands on more Steem I have been thinking for about 2 weeks now, since I decided to keep most of myself 100% invested in Steem Power on purpose, and keep my money inside the community I believe it, with all you guys.

I had fun though and I think participating in contests is a great way to get to know people and also a great way to build your steem power too.
I have written lots of posts that should be producing more when the work to create and the unique info shared is factored in, so if you can enter a contest and end up winning more than what the average post produces, I think it's a good strategy...it's a golden egg, coming from another basket.
I have been feeling the same almost word for word as what you just said. I work super hard at some of my stuff. My memes! LOL! IDK - I am not the most gifted and unless you get a ton of support from whales or people say 10 rep. points above you, it is kinda slow trodding and disheartening some days for sure.
I think an area where we both can really excel is in the commenting section of other people's posts. Especially when the idea that you've communicated is beneficial or adds value to the topic being discussed. I've had simple comments pay out a $1. Doesn't sound like much, but I worked over 5+ hours on my recent "gummy post" for a pay-out less than .20 cents.
I had a few simple comment posts pay out too like you say, good point. I won a contest when I was new on comments one nite, I posted on Liberty lol
I agree and @papa's post a week or 10 days ago said it best..... THERE IS NO RHYME OR REASON TO WHAT WORKS ON STEEMIT most of the time LOL.
If you look at the steemitwhales site and input my name, I have literally almost broke into the top 200 now in comments, as of an hour ago or so, I think I was at #207. I cannot comment much more than I do already.
I try to add value like you say when I can. Some stuff I am just not able to help on -- so I try to offer encouragement at least. We all can use more of that.
I advised one of Canada's largest real estate groups / landlording groups some solid policy advice today on Fascistbook lol, so if this were Municipal or Political / policy work forums or real estate, I could offer more lol
I think you are doing great Barry. I also think that the climate on Steemit has changed a great deal even in the last 2 months. It will be interesting to see what happens with the changes which I think are suppose to happen next week sometime.
I think it is now set (for about a week now) - to Dec. 6th. I could be mistaken but if I am off, it is a day or 2 but pretty sure that is the hardfork date now, since the delay.
