STEEM EVM Update: 50k+ Blocks, Network Stability & Sherpa Protocol Upgrades
The Steem Virtual Machine (SVM) Public Testnet has reached a significant milestone in stability and uptime. As of today, the network has successfully produced over 50,000 blocks, demonstrating the robustness of our consensus mechanism and the reliability of our validator set.
While the chain continues to grow, I have been working behind the scenes on major improvements to the Sherpa Protocol contracts. These upgrades are designed to enhance capital efficiency and user experience, and they will be deployed to the testnet very soon.

The SVM is operating smoothly with consistent block times and healthy peer connectivity.
Current Network Stats:
- Total Blocks Produced: 50,000+
- Total Transactions: 171
- Registered Addresses: 17
- Active Validators: 7 (with more joining soon)
While the transaction count is currently low as we are in the early testing phase, the infrastructure is proving capable of handling sustained load. The 17 registered addresses represent the early adopters and validators who are helping to secure and stress-test the network.
Sherpa Protocol: Major Upgrades Coming Soon
I have completed significant development work on the Sherpa Protocol smart contracts. These improvements focus on:
- Enhanced Security: Optimizing contract logic to prevent potential edge-case vulnerabilities.
- Gas Efficiency: Reducing the cost of swaps and liquidity management for users.
- UX Improvements: Preparing the backend for seamless integration into the SVM App.
These contracts are currently undergoing final internal reviews and will be deployed to the Public Testnet in the coming days. Once deployed, I will integrate them directly into the SVM App, allowing users to swap and farm without needing to use external interfaces.
Validator Set Expansion
Our current validator set of seven nodes continues to perform excellently. I am also in discussions with additional community members who are interested in running nodes. As more validators join, the network will become even more decentralized and resilient.
