Steem Cartoon : We are on a Roll

It seems like it was only yesterday when we talked about forming #steem-cartoon, then it came to fruition. Now there are countless participation from people who are just beginning their journey in Steemit. That is the real reason we are here. We are here to make sure your baby steps in steemit does not end as baby steps.

One of the most difficult thing about being in steemit as a minnow is the vulnerability and lack of support. If it wasn't because of #teammalaysia backing me up, my posts when I first started will not exceed $0.05 and I would be devastated with the hours of work that I put into it.
Community Support is Indispensable
It is motivated by this need to ensure that good talents is retained in this platform and the ability to leverage on this platform we have started this community. The first steps in introducing our mascot and naming our mascot has been carried out successfully. Our next step would be the creation of a sustainable and interactive discord channel where the sharing of ideas and guidance of minnows that participate in our community.
Lest we be mistaken that #steem-cartoon is solely for the artist community, that would be a wrong perception. The community would not be able to exist if that is the prerequisite that we impose on our community participants. The community would only grow if we have continous engagement with non artist and other art enthusiast. Many people that have rendered their support and criticism are people that we treasure because they have helped us grow both professionally and also the growth of our wallet.
Please do not think that only people that can draw is a contributing part of this community. The people that has been giving their ideas, criticism, sharing of insights, spreading the message within the steemit realm, these are the people that are part and parcel of us. These people are not the fringes that adorns the cake, but rather they are the essence of our existence. Please feel free to be part of us, there is no prerequisite with the exception that you are interested in creative design and active engagement.
Our 'Face'
The 'face' that marks the identity of of this community is Wo-owl. The name is to represent that creation that packs a creative punch. The relentless search for quality contribution till the wee hours of the morning. The wisdom to impart knowledge. Those are the thread that binds us together.
I think apart from community building and apart from the altruistic intent of the community, we have to openly admit that the community is also powered by the passion to find their pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. The community openly recognise the increasing difficulty for creative content providers to make ends meet except for a rare few. So, in our community provided that contents are of reasonable standard and has effort thrown in, we will endeavour our best effort to provide good upvotes that will commensurate with the effort of the author.
It does not matter to us if you speak Spanish, Arab, Japanese or Tagalog because in our community we only have one common language. Our art speak for itself.
Here to Stay
We are here for a long time. Hence we are constantly in search for good contents. We will be organising a bi weekly contest and as the community grow so will the prize that comes along with it. We wish to see more active participation and the community will constantly do our bit for the authors here...let's strive for a better tomorrow.

I kind of feel sorry you are making this kind of really supportive and positive post and yet you are the only one coming to newcomer / new artists around your own community to show some support, at least you are one to put action into your words ! Thank you very much for this initiative and informative post !
There are quite a few of us that are helping to support newcomers. Not just me.
So it is "steem-cartoon" haha someone told me "steemit-cartoon" and I have been using the wrong tag ever since X( lol Well better late than never.
Now I am looking forward to contribute more ^-^ with the right tag xD
Amazing art work btw :) and I agree, only art isn't the way people are contributing, there are lawyers, researchers, crypto-experts, chefs, musicians, singers, dancers, craftsman, travellers etc they are all providing to this community !

I love the owl. Most of us have day jobs, so it is on point. Don Henley, the lead singer of the Eagles (Hotel California) once said that creativity comes from the dark side of the personality. Th owl is on point with that.
yeah in fact many of us are posting after office hours. But some of us are just nocturnal in nature.

This is an awesome idea. I came here to start sharing my webcomic... I will have to start using the Steem-cartoon tag on my pages! It's great to know that there are other creatives on Steemit.
