💪 How you power-up constantly in Steemit 🚀 Could be better than just spending your earnings? 💲steemCreated with Sketch.

Dear Steemit friends,

yesterday i showed one way to power-up your Steem Power (SP) in Steemit from outside with fiat money. But many Steemians and also i constantly power-up with post and curation rewards inside. How does it work?

Each time you get upvotes or voting for other posts you earn rewards. Even if you vote for comments of others in your post you get curation rewards. Posting rewards can go up to hundreds and even thousands of Steem Dollars and Steem Power (50/50 split setting before publishing post) but that are rare cases. You should look at the $15,000 post of @dollarvigilante post with the wink of an eye 😉. Probably nobody will repeat or beat that one-time lucky success.

Most people on Steemit earn in the single and double digits earnings for a post, many even <$1 but that doesn't matter. If you write 30 posts a month and make $1 per post you get the same as someone who writes 2 posts per month with $15 per post and both can use the earnings to power-up their SP and their influence. Before you publish a post you can decide if you want 100% SP payout or 50% SBD/50% SP. You see in the picture below i decided for this post 100% power-up in SP because i don't want SBD currently. In this case i simply power-up if Steemit asks me to Claim Rewards because the SP will be directly added to the existing.

Also if you constantly commenting and upvoting the posts and comments of others you get a fraction of the author rewards as curation rewards. And i say "constantly" because if you do that you will get a continuous stream of curation rewards as SP. Mostly a few SP "cents" or less but it adds up over time to >1 SP.

The following charts are from https://steemwhales.com/ from @heimindanger. Thank you for that great tool!. The next chart shows my development of rewards over time since July 30 2017

with these rewards i constantly powered up my account as you can see in the following chart with the magenta lines. The big jumps were direct investments with fiat money.

You get a sense for the both ways to power-up? Yes you can boost you SP fast with a direct investment, BUT as you can see in the first chart the earnings from postings also rise and so the amount for SP you can power-up. There is another important number, the reputation score in the following chart, which influences also how you will recognized by other Steemians.

As you can see i had a fast rise in the beginning and now work my way up slowly as many Steemians because with rising reputation the difficuilty or score for the next level increases constantly.

@karenmckersie wrote yesterday in my dolphin transformation post that she work their way up again after a necessary power-down and also @playfulfoodie wrote in my first power-up post partly powers up and spends the other part for living.

But in conclusion if you don't do stupid things here the way is always up.. the speed is determined by yourself!

That's for the introduction with the reminder to constantly care about posting and curation to generate continuous stream of Steem Dollars (SBD) and Steem Power (SP). Then you have the opportunity to power-up and that make a huge impact over time because if you do that constantly you raise your influence and at the same time also the chance to earn even more because you can give more to others what arouses the attention of others.

You have more than one adjusting screw 🔧 🔩 for long term success

1. individual main influence - reinvested post and curation awards
2. ecosystem community - growth of Steemit leads to higher market cap of STEEM and your SP (app development, marketing efforts by users, donation to projects,..)

Both are linked together and are supported by active users. One screw alone just can lead to strong growth, both together could be surprising 😊 Each user can contribute to the success here. But that's just my long term view on that. Let's see how simple power-up works with Steem Dollars (SBD) in daily life:

1. go to your wallet

2. check how much Steem Dollars (SBD) you can convert to Steem Power (SP). In my case i decided to power-up with 7 SBD and use the rest for other purposes like resteeming, donating. I like flexibility.

3. go to the exchange blocktrades.us

4. choose Steem Dollar as currency you wanna convert

5. choose Steem Power as currency you want receive for your Steem Dollars.

6. before conversion we check the exchange rate. I get 5.402 SP for 7 SBD, good!

7. type in your current Steemit account name to connect the transaction with your wallet

8. Create a deposit adress for blocktrades exchange where you can send the Steem Dollars for exchange

9. copy the created deposit adress

10. go back to your Steemit wallet and klick the small down arrow on Steem Dollar amount. You'll see a menu - click Transfer

you'll see the transfer-dialog

11. enter all necessary data in the fields:

To: blocktrades
Amount: 7 (in my case)
Memo: paste the deposit adress in here

double and triple check that data is correct before you hit SUBMIT especially with bigger transactions!

12. After submitting your transfer go back to your wallet and check the balance

You should see the change, if not be patient it could need time for the transaction to get through.

Now you have successfully powered up your account and increased your influence on Steemit to create a better future! STEEM ON!

Great informative post and with my upvote you just crossed a dollar! and it deserves way more. I was powering up everything for a while and stopped a couple months ago.

I've been a trader for years regarding the stock market. So what comes natural to me is taking the other half of my reward in SBD and have been sliding it back and forth between steem and sbd. When steem drops close to a dollar a move the SBD into Steem, then bring it back into SBD on the rallies.

Sometimes I transfer the liquidity into my bitpay card so I can reap the rewards of my blog or I power up too. Being all powered up all the time leaves you with nothing liquid. As an investor that's just a little against my rule book.

Glad I'm following you. You post real interesting stuff and I'll have to check in more often. I'll be around! -Dan "World Travel Pro"

that's quite interesting tactic with the STEEM-SBD trading and makes absolutely sense with the high volatility currently. I'm always the John Longhold who says something like that "Hey i have new dollars, let me get stronger to leverage my presence on Steemit!" For a trader that may be boring because there is no fast money. My approach is like a 2-component-investment.

  1. Income generation through work (posting, curation)
  2. prediction of STEEM price increase for mid to long term

In the end i see exponential growth for Steemit and a long term commitment with no limited horizon.

In stock market i'm at least in for one year for a stock, but often much more, at best forever. That's my sentiment, but i do also like opportunities where i see short term gains almost surely, but they are rare and not my first priority.

Thank you for the detailed info and upvote! See you later!

I'm right there with you. I actually stopped trading and have powered up everything in steemit minus a little bit that I withdrew in Laos and turned in to Lao kip just to prove to myself that I could. But yeah powering up is the way to go for productive and active members here. I too am not a big trader, I've just been screwing around with the whoping $25 worth of steem, but plan on flipping it back and forth along with more rewards as they come int as I believe steem is pretty range bound these weeks/ months between $1 and $2. Yes I stopped trading in the market and am a "John Longhold" too. I found it too stressful and too much like gambling in the short run. I enjoy your comments. Looking forward seeing more of you're work. Don't hesitate to stop by my blog too if you get the chance. Hope you are having a great weekend! -Dan

ow!!
but they were very helpful at that time..

it's especially for newcomers like me 2 months ago, in Steemit is much going on, all the apps, chat, discord, bots, .. that needs constantly support. Thank you!

Hey @onetin84 another great post man. I saw in your other post that you powered up and became a dolphin. Good for you man, you beat me to it. I have wait a while on some ICO's to end before cashing in and powering up. I hope that profits will send me over the 5000 sp mark. Love what you're doing. Keep it up, Steem on!

Hey, thank you! If you have choosen the right ICO you become a whale 😉 I wish you the best look forward to steem up with you!

wow very useful and helpful I wish I could get out of what you have received. Thank you for the interesting explanation

Please ask if something is unclear or you have further questions. The beauty of that is we can learn from each other. Thank you!

Brother @onetin84 this post will definitely help me and clear my doubts related to steem power thanks for posting such wonderful article!!

Nice to see that it helped you. What i write is my opinion and my personal decision, please do your own homework and make your decision dependend on your situation. Steemit is for me a great platform with big long term chances to penetrate the social media market but it all depends on the efforts at core dev team, the community and strategy by Ned. If they use the power of the well thoughtout system i think we see positive surprises, but nothing is for sure.

that's very helpful post ,,,,,,,
