Information and transparency is important. It would be nice if everyone had a little patience, because if they could hold for just a week or two with this tight supply, we'd be back up to $1 very quickly. However, I am a little troubled by the scrutiny these people are receiving. Some of them probably have bills to pay and other legitimate reasons which I don't need them to explain to me (even if they choose to leave, which is fine also). Others may stay in Steem rather than SP if they don't need the voting power - powering down does not mean they will sell now. I hope the community does ostracize anyone who makes the choice to power down.
Please give hands to @jesta

This will be useful. Thanks!
Agreed, 100%. Trying to understand all this more each day.
sometimes this really bothers me. i mean people can do whatever they want with Steem, right? and nope, I am not powering down.
Of course they can, but it's useful for traders to be able to estimate the amount of liquid Steem there will be in the near future.
ah okay. that makes sense :)
Thanks @clayop! Resteemed :)
Do you have an easy way to compare the volume of power downs pre and post fork?
Weekly MVEST withdrawal was 3317.17 before the hardfork. Now, 4526.42 MVESTS per week (only new powerdowns are applied by the 13 week rule)
A rise was expected just due to the shorter schedule. But it will certainly impact markets once selling begins - assuming that these power downs will be sold.
Thanks!
now when i see others powering down i also see the value of my vote going up, as they wont sell if the price of steem is too low
Thanks for the transparency here clayop! :)
Thank you!
RS and UV! This is useful stuff, no doubt! TY very much for this and the comments are great here!
I am trying to understand all this stuff better, lots to learn.
Great information thanks clayop
