How To Setup SYNX Masternode / Syndicate Masternode on Mac OS

  1. Download SYNX WALLET for Mac : https://github.com/SyndicateLtd/SyndicateQT/releases/tag/v1.9.1

  2. If you have a hard time opening the wallet, don't panic just yet.

  3. Download the blockchain here: https://transfer.sh/13BiaI/Syndicate_blockchain_2017_09_28.zip

  4. Unzip it, and put the files inside this folder: ~Library/Application Support/Syndicate
    Overwrite the files there.
    Note:
    if you can't find the folder, press SHIFT + COMMAND + L on your desktop, it will go right up to the Library folder.

  5. Try to reopen the wallet. Wait for it to sync up with the rest of the blockchain.

  6. Send at least 5001 SYNX to your wallet address (this is to keep up with the fee later)

  7. On your Syndicate Wallet, go to HELP > DEBUG WINDOW

  8. Click 'CONSOLE' tab

  9. Type: getnewaddress Masternode1 . It will generate address. Keep this address in a safeplace.

  10. Send 5000 SYNX exactly to this address. (Basically, you make payment to yourself)

  11. Type: masternode genkey . It will generate private key of that address. Keep this private key in a safeplace. You will need this later.

  12. Type: masternode outputs . It will generate transaction hash and index number. Keep this hash in a safeplace. You will need this later.

  13. Set up VPS on Vultr or Digital Ocean. Pay some money to your account to deploy a server, USD 5 is enough to keep a server running for a month.

  14. Deploy a new server. Server Type: Ubuntu 14.04. Server Size: 5$/month. 1GB memory.

  15. Once you deploy new server. It will give you IP address, username, and password. Keep this in the safe place.

  16. Run TERMINAL application on your Mac. (Go to search, and type terminal)

  17. On TERMINAL, type: ssh root@<ip_address_of_your_new_deployed_server>

  18. It will ask you the question, just type yes

  19. Input the password they give you from your newly deployed server.

  20. Then, type this:
    wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/u3mur4/syndicate/master/synx.py && python synx.py
    (credit: uemura https://github.com/u3mur4/syndicate#3-faq)

  21. It might take a while, until it finishes extracting and compiling, and then will ask you question how many masternodes to setup. Just answer what you like.

  22. When it asks you for the private key, just input the private key from step.11

  23. NOW, go back to your Syndicate Wallet

  24. Click on MASTERNODES tab on the left.

  25. Click CREATE..

  26. INPUT:
    alias: masternode1
    address: <ip_address_from_your_deployed_server_from_step_15>
    privkey: <your_private_key_from_step_11>
    txhash: <your_transaction_hash_from_step_12>
    output index: <your_output_index_from_step_12>

Click OK

  1. Edit the file Syndicate.conf in the folder : ~Library/Application Support/Syndicate

  1. CLOSE YOUR SYNDICATE WALLET, AND RESTART.

  2. GO TO MASTERNODES TAB, AND CLICK START ALL.

YOU CAN SEE THE STATUS MASTERNODE IS RUNNING

    Great guide, covers a few bits such as the Ubuntu version which isn't listed on other guides and can cause problems if choosing a different version.

      This is a great guide. I'm seeing an error when I try to start my masternode from the wallet. "Error: could not allocate vin" any tips on how to fix this? \
