Today in the greater Seattle area has been beautiful! My husband and I kicked off the morning with a visit to a local outdoor art show. It is a yearly tradition for us, yet somehow we almost never buy art.

I did, however, get this delicious strawberry shortcake!

Ok, but that is not the tough part of the day.

When we got home I was an idiot and decided to repaint the ceiling in the shower. The paint was peeling and there was some mold. The job needed doing but FAAAAAK it has destroyed me and eaten up most of the day.

First, I bought all of the supplies. Oh, and went grocery shopping. Then I came home and cleaned the whole tub/shower combo. When that was dry I put a tarp into the tub and turned on all the fans. Next I put on a mask and goggles so I could start the arduous task of scrapping the ceiling.

OMG!!! So much dust.

I am covered in paint dust. And despite the mask, I am coughing like an asthmatic. I obviously still inhaled too much dust. The scrapping took forever. As did the mold removal.

Eventually, it was time to paint. Sadly I was too short to get painters tape all the way around the top of the shower. Hubs tried... but let’s politely say that was a disaster. Both for the tape and for marital bliss!!! 🤣😂

I finally got one coat on the ceiling. Then cleaned dust off of everything while coat one dried. Also made dinner - (Chicken Dijon, Au Gratin Potatoes, Green Beans).

After dinner I got a second coat onto the ceiling. It is just drying now and I am wondering about a third coat. I am slightly annoyed at the finish on the paint. I thought the paint store was giving me a glossier finished paint, but this stuff is looking pretty matte. It might be satin. Seems like it will mold up again quick and not be easy to clean 😐 Curses....

^{That’s not a dribble in the corner. Some of the blue paint is peeling now too. So I have to get a can of that tomorrow maybe.}
