In-laws
So our main reason for this visit to Australia was to celebrate my mother in law’s 70th birthday. The big day was last Friday. Most of the immediate family gathered for the first time in two years for the party.
To kick off the party we had dinner at a gastropub called Casey Jones. The place had a cool look about it, but it was a bit loud inside for the oldies. There was a singer doing Hootie and the Blowfish covers... I ordered a massive (and delicious) chicken schnitzel with mushroom sauce.
My husband is the oldest of three children. His brother and sister were also in Canberra for the celebration. They are both divorced so each brought their new significant others to the party. Sisters-in-law’s kids were with us, but our other niece and nephew were at home in Queensland with their mom. Aside from family, one long time family friend also came to dinner.
After dinner the family made their way to my sister-in-law’s place. There we had cake and opened presents. My husband also played some Mario Kart with the kiddos.
What a great day out, and happy 70th mum in law! Looks like you all had a fabulous time and delicious food too !COFFEEA
