Hey @abitcoinskeptic I never thought we would be doing #spud on a monthly basis... at best I thought it would be a yearly thing, maybe quarterly, so going on #spud6 and actually gaining more momentum, I never really gave it a thought to the number on the name of the event.
For now I think we'll go with it until maybe number 10 or 12 since that would be a whole year of SPUD. Maybe we could go with themes or monthly names as you suggest. Anyhow, thanks for the mention and support.
Take care.

Your initiative has been very successful. It definitely helps encourage people to power up.
Powering up liquid Steem once a year seems like something to do if the price sky rockets and taking income is realistic for most people.
Glad you are considering a number change. I guess I can endure 5 or 6 more until then.

Happy October my man. I WISH I could make 316 steem in a month. I suppose scrapping to pay the bills and build businesses and earn organically has its virtue but I would much rather be buying with fiat when it is this low.

Good strategy and it will be neat to see how Thomson voting trails work out.

Always good to hear from a stat watching veteran like yourself.

I'll admit I was really surprised I did this well. I thought september would be awful because of the hardfork. I didn't realize it would be figured out this quickly.

Fortunately, I have money to spare at the moment, and I keep choosing time into Steem. I generally only purchase Steem once a quarter, but I may make an exception. Let's see what happens.

Very interesting - again. Quite a lot to absorb, and a lot to think about. I'm thrilled with my nearly 65 powering up over the last 2 days (don't ask why it's 2 days...). It's also largely a function of having written 2 posts that really got noticed. I'm also posting less frequently which is partly a function of life and mostly because I'd rather do longer, better (IMHO) posts than the quick and dirty.

I have to say that I'm not missing the bots at all. It also seems that Steemit is a somewhat "kinder" place without them.

I've also noticed slowing down the amount of blogs I do works. The really fast posts don't work anymore and could even lose people followers. There are a few people I'm afraid to follow because of too much.

Steemit has become rather kinder. The scammers have all moved on or even better smartened up.

It is, but the vote extortionists have started. Check out the discussion in the abuse channel in PHC. Urgh!

Wow, the description of his account os just a vote selling service and his post explaining it was a joke is about as convincing as a plublic announcement from an autocratic government.

I avoid downvoting large orcas and whats, but these people with bot networks or teams are harder to avoid. They are usually super agressive or grovel if that won't work. I give them all 1 more momth until game over because newsteem won't take this.

Yes, indeed. And now SteemCleaners and SteemTerminal have dealt with him and the account that complained. All a little suspect.

as convincing as a public announcement from an autocratic government

A perfect description

A great report for me to refer to, thanks a lot!

Glad you find it useful. It took me awhile to write especially explaining all my settings, but there are so many and I hope it saves people time if they are thinking of doing similar.

Haha... can contain your excitement... thanks a bit the way I feel... there is some decent behaviour and but there is a great deal of virtue signalling about how people were able their inner best selves... it only needed an economic reward to do it!

Anyway, nice job... following curation trails might be the better way to go... I follow community accounts, but I'm considering changing that.

Virtue singnalling under newsteem to release my betterself is exactly what I had in mind.
They tend to tag as many curation projects and tribes as possible to um spread their inspirations. Now that the hype has died down they just complain about less rewards under the changes.

I think delegating to community accounts or just upvoting the account itself is better than trailing them. They tend to have bias voting systems based on involvement or contests and not quality. If you trail them, don't set the follow to 0 set it reward based on their reward. I was thinking of trailing phc, but some people post a lot more than others and there are contests, too. Theluvbug is much better, also I vote lots of the members already.

What is with that game? Where people go through someone's legs to run into a tree on the other side? Sounds painful and not much fun!

It's a version of leap frog.
Its quite dangerous actually like a lot of those old games were.

Mentioned a few of my favourite things here @abitcoinskeptic the work and effort going into community #powerhousecreatives has been great right from day one..

#Steemworld by @steemchiller has been a most amazing tool, always support.

You have given some new ideas to test, happy October!

Thanks. It's quite a complicated post conpared to my usual, especially vote trails. PHC and SPUD is a great place to start.
I think engagement and blogging clubs are definitely the best thing to do.

It is complicated, exactly why trying to explain to help new arrivals may answer questions. Communities do help with helpful people happy to help one another.

Awesome in depth review of it all since the changes. I switched off auto voter for some things (still have sbi set up because I want to see a return on my own steem investments there) but can't get my head around the curation rewards window. I don't think it really matters when you vote. It would be nice to switch off auto stuff but c'est La vie!

I bought another 2.5k when everything tanked last week but I'm holding off for a while now. At least until the next tank which is imminent 🙂

Keep steeming

Autovoter is just way too handy especially trailing. No one has all day to wait around to vote. I'm just going full curation for a momth to see what happens. I don't consider sbi curation because lets face it their posts are boring. It's a great project. I just want to save my vp.
2500 more is a lot. I may have another buying spree soon.

Not saying you have to wait around for anything. Just pop online when you can, vote for stuff you like and drop a comment. 30 mins, in, out, job done. I still upvote sbi because it contributes to the growth of the program and my own rewards from them if and when I get to post (which is looking increasingly likely to only be 1 time per week, from once per day).

Personally think there's going to be a further drop in price again as BTC is reeling from last week. Despite this mini (and I mean mini) recovery. Keep your eyes on the prize over the next few weeks #dyor

SBI is a great program. I'll probably do less trails next month and add them back around 95% VP. I haven't seen my VP go to 100% yet.
I think it's fine as long as you aren't voting all their accounts and comments, try to use less than 2 full votes on them a day and I don't see the problem especially if you aren't also doing that for yourself (I consider it the same as a self vote or vote trading).

I'm also holding off on Steem. If it goes down, I'll buy more. If it goes up I'll think about it.

I turned off a couple of fan bases and curation trails which restored my VP to 100% which I'm happy about.

I do vote all the sbi accounts but they only post once per day so doesn't really do much to VP and I don't self vote, haven't for a very long time. For me, this is the investment side of Steem to help grow accounts so I can then give bigger upvotes to others in this positive spiral.

I'm in observe mode now with steem prices - definitely won't be buying more in the next couple of weeks, holding off for pay day and assess from there

Yeah from what I remember their main account usually posts once a day and all the others maybe once a week (like sbi2) so you can't end up voting a lot. However, some people also vote all their comments and basically use all their voting power for it which is just boring.

I just like changing up what I'm doing on Steem. We all have a tendency to maximize rewards, but when I reach my target, I have a little more fun or experiment more. It also has to be interesting for me.

I am the same with tracking prices. I barely look when I'm not planning to buy or sell because there is history anyway.
