Will Ben Roethlisberger Ever Play Again?

in #sportstalk5 years ago (edited)

I got a weird feeling that Ben Roethlisberger has played his last game in the NFL. He suffered a pretty serious injury to his elbow in Sunday’s game and it’s gonna require him to have Tommy John Surgery to have it repaired. Several years ago, athletes who had this type of surgery (especially baseball players) could rarely come back from it. With today’s medicine, it’s possible to come back but it’s a lot of work in rehabilitation.

I feel like Big Ben is gonna retire this summer because his team is in shambles, they just lost a first round pick trading for a safety, Antonio Brown has been traded, they are 0-2, have a young 2nd year QB who looked good and Ben is getting old.

Guys like Tom Brady are amazing to do what they do at that age but, I doubt Ben is capable of doing it. He’s too slow, has very little weapons and frankly I don’t hunk he’s in great shape like Brady is,

He may make a comeback next year somehow but it might not be for the Steelers which would hurt since they would take around a 55M hit in cap space. The NFL game is rough, and coming back from injuries might be the toughest aspect of a professional players life.

Good Luck Ben.

He should probably call it quits. Why bother busting his body up more at his age on a mediocre team? But who knows, sometimes these athletes are hardwired differently than us regular folks. He could desperately want to go out on his own terms.

I wonder what’s going through Ben’s mind right now.

I think he’s never gonna be the same. His body has not been taken care of to the extent he needed to late in his career. He was a very good Player but, I think it’s time.

I’ve never heard of a football player getting Tommy John surgery before. I wonder what a doctor would say about a football player coming back from it.

It's probably time to retire. Feels like a changing of the guard this year with Ben Roethlisberger and Drew Brees going down. Add in Eli Manning being benched for the next game and it seems like a lot of the old lions are being put out to pasture this year. Tom Brady looking as good as ever though and Brees is coming back for the second half of the season so it's not all doom and gloom for the old guard.

Maybe this is a Good Thing. I never Really Liked the Guy and There is Still a Question out There about Some Incidents a few Years Ago and some not so Good Situations.......

But Hey Some People Forget Over Time........I Don't Forget

The Steelers must have a good clean up guy. Between the way they've redefined Ben's incidents and was apparently able to keep Antonio Brown's name clear. Either that or Brown lost his mind over the last year.

That is why I am not an NFL fan anymore

I don’t think Ben is a good guy. I do believe he got away with some things he shouldn’t have.

It is so difficult sometimes to admit I had Loved Sports all of my Life and now to see The Agenda of the Professional sports is quite disconcerting....Some College Football Games can still be watched on ESPN for Free...

It might be possible. But I doubt he can look excellent because when he has suffered a severe injury it is very difficult to appear perfect as before .

If he is smart, he just retires, the biggest injuries happen when you're not 100 % fit, that is in every sport. So to prevent even bigger damage, it's best for him to just stop. But I doubt if he is that smart!

He’s making BIG money and under contract.....it’s hard to walk away I guess.

Sports is great and tough too hopefully he will make his way again

I like this sport, since childhood I have learned to play well,

Brady's vegan right?
