According to league sources, Rams lineman Andrew Whitworth did the unthinkable today.

During his day off, Whitworth purposely tried to get kids hooked on an activity that has been linked to stimulation of various brain chemicals, like serotonin, that may leave you feeling happier and more relaxed.
How dare he try to mess with kids' brain chemicals?!

This activity has also been known to reduce blood sugar levels, affect people's weight and cause the heart and lungs to work harder than normal.
On top of that, this horrible activity may actually affect the children's bones causing them to increase in density.
Won't someone think of the children?

By the way, it was Whitworth's 36th birthday and he spent it giving out over 550 bikes and helmets.
Maybe you can't paint every NFL player with a broad brush.

I love to see this type of story, where a player stays connected to the community and takes on the part of role model, mentor, philanthropist or hero. Good job by Andrew, his influence may far outlast anything he does on the field.

Unfortunately the media in all countries jump on the negatives - perhaps it's a trait of modern society. We're all so worried about what kids and teenagers shouldn't be doing. There are hundreds of good people working in the NFL, let's try and shed a few more lights on them.
