Islamabad United are captained by the most successful test captain of Pakistan, Misbah-ul-Haq.
Their head coach is Dean Jones while Saeed Ajmal is their bowling coach.

Impact Players
Andre **Russell **
After a suspension of one year from all forms of cricket, Russell will be itching to get on the field.
He is one of the best t20 players at present.
He bowls upfront with the new ball and has good pace as well.
When it comes to striking the ball, he can hit as clean as a whistle.
He will be their main weapon with both bat and ball.
JP Duminy
The classy left hander from South Africa will take care of the middle order.
He is vastly experienced middle order batsman who can strike big.
He bowls some off spin as well, sometimes inside power play.
He is going to be their main weapon in the middle order.
Luke Ronchi
The wicket keeping bastsman will open the batting for Islamabad United.
He will be crucial for giving quick starts.
He has played some blistering knocks in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League.
He can tear apart any bowling with his attacking approach.
Sam Billings
Sam Billings will open the batting along with Luke Ronchi.
He can also play in the middle order.
He has a good technique and can score big runs.
I think he is undervalued player and hasn't got much opportunities.
It is almost impossible to stop him when he is in his groove.
Watch out for him.
Faheem Ashraf
Faheem Ashraf has become one the best all-rounders of Pakistan and has cemented his place shorter versions of the game.
He recently took a hat trick as well and he can also strike long balls.
He is also a player to watch out for.
Among supplementary players Alex Hales and David Wiley will be the players to watch out for.
That ends the this series of PSL team review.
All the images of the players are from https://cricbuzz.com except the last one which is from https://espncricinfo.com.
IU has one of the strongest bowling line-ups - I think they could well be the team to beat this third season.
Goalkeeper in hockey, fast bowler in cricket! Our *Bullet is multi-talented
Looking at the squad of ISU I don't think they have a great batting line up. Their chance of winning the title will immensely depend on the overseas players like DreRus Ronchi and JPD. The local players will definitely have to play a big role
I personally think they had similar issues in the first edition of the PSL too but won thanks to the acumen of their captain Misbah-ul-Haq. Plus a strong bowling line-up counts for a lot more than a strong batting in this format.
You're right. But your bowlers cannot win you every game. There has to be a good batting unit as well.
I love PSL but Islamabad team has no Bangladeshi player though our BPL in every team there are many players are from Pakistan
There are many other players from Bangladesh who play for different PSL teams.
The new players from Bangladesh are very talented and in the coming years you will see them representing different teams around the world.
Yeah that will be great...
