Forgotten Friday Volume #2: Phi Slama Jamma (1982-1984 Houston Cougars Basketball)

There may have never been a more exciting team in college basketball than the Houston Cougars from 1982 to 1984 - often referred to as Phi Slama Jamma, for their affinity for slamming and jamming the ball through the rim.
(via Youtube.com)However, some 30+ years after their acme, the Cougars are largely remembered for their inability to win the championship. Houston reached the Final Four three seasons in a row, before ultimately losing to the eventual champions: North Carolina, NC State and Georgetown.
Clyde Drexler and Hakeem Olajuwon were the two stars of the team. Each were able to win a championship ring in the NBA, ironically enough for the Houston Rockets.
