Hot Take Tuesday: Win STEEM in the Skip Bayless Challenge #2

in #sports7 years ago

According to Urban Dictionary, a "Hot Take" is "an opinion based on simplistic moralizing rather than actual thought. Not to be confused with a strong take." Basically, you can say whatever you're thinking without having any evidence to back it up.

You can dive deep into sports, politics, technology, whatever. Today, I'm taking on sports playoffs.

Here is my hot take: the NHL playoffs have the best overtime rules in sports... and I say that as a Boston Bruins fans who lost a playoff thriller just last night.

They can go on for hours or end in an instant - you can't take your eye away for a second. That realization also means that you can't just "play for overtime" like in college football or "hold for the last shot" in basketball, as you may never touch the puck again.

The old NFL playoffs system - sudden death football - was close to matching the drama and sheer brilliance of the NHL system, but as they water it down in search of fairness, they seem to have lost something.

The tension of the NHL playoffs is unmatched in team sports right now.

Your turn to drop a hot take this Tuesday. Best response wins all the liquid steem generated from this post!
