#8 NBA Basketball Surprises Week 8 (Haas News)
Time for the weekly surprises in the NBA! By now we are almost two months into the season and we are roughly 30 games into the 82 game season. Time goes so fast, some teams really need to find there chemistry in order to make the play-offs or challenge the World Champions to claim the title.
Other teams will likely go into tanking soon! So you can say we are approaching a key part of the season. here are this week’s stars! Enjoy.
Bobby Portis- Nikola Mirotic
The Chicago Bulls would love to go back in time and see MJ play in the 90’s, right now the team is really struggling. Even fights between team members happen in Chicago and then the really nice logo and arena there is nothing much to enjoy in Chicago at the moment! Or is there? The won 5 in a row so I just had to pick a Chicago player to be rewarded.
They Beat; the Knicks, Celtics, Jazz and the Bucks this week! So who did I pick? Just to celebrate the peace I picked Portis and Mirotic, they had a serious fight and because of it Mirotic missed weeks of Basketball action.
On October 26 Mirotic told the media there is no way he will ever play on the same team with Portis again and on November 8 they were still not speaking. Fast forward to December 17th the Bulls are on a 5 game winstreak both players are playing great!
Mirotic is averaging 23,5 points a game this week and Portis 17 points including scoring a career high 27 points! So guys well done and maybe just celebrate Christmas together? Congratulations on being selected as the first co- surprise of the week in Haas News.
Jarrett Jack
After losing the first game of the week against the red-hot Bulls! The Knicks won all other games this week.
Beating the Hawks, La Lakers in overtime and the Nets, not the best teams in the NBA but still you need to win those games in order to maybe make it to the Play-offs.
After suffering some injuries and battling back Jarett Jack moved into the starting role for the Knicks. Being on the floor for around 25 minutes a game he really controls the pace and dictates with smart plays.
He was able to score 19 points this week but also had a game with 6 points and 10 assist, basically doing what’s necessary to win!
Luc Mbah a Moute
Winning 85% of your games in not bad, winning 12 straight is helpful to make a statement as well. The Rockets are a great outsider for winning it all and if not next year they will have even more chemistry.
On a team with a lot off star power you need role players that are low maintenance and really understand how they can help the team. Capela and Tuckers made it to the list earlier but today its time to honor Luc Mbah a Moute, some games he is not playing others he is playing over 10 minutes, he does not need any touches and is just a great defender! Would love to have him on my team.
Damian Lillard
Portland lost against the future champion in the Warriors or the Rockets this week but they played well and the teams really needed to step in order to not lose against the Blazers.
Lillard was able to score 35 and 39 points against them and in the other two games this week 18 and 21! He really deserves to be an All-star again after missing out a few times in the talent heavy West.
Steven Adams
OKC played 4 overtime period this week, one against the Grizzlies and three against the Sixers! Winning both times, we know the team is still finding the best way to play and some people are disappointed with their start even doubting if they will not make any trades before the end of the season. but to me if you win those closes games it shows heart and they will fight themselves into a play-offs spot.
The team really needs Steven Adams, and Adams is scoring more and more to help the team .
Adams had two games this week with more than 20 points also had two games with double digits rebounds and played 50 minutes in the game against the Sixers!
So even if they make any trades, Adams will stay on the team.
Hope you enjoyed this week’s top performers and surprises back with more next week!

Merry Christmas! thanks for stopping by
Merry Christmas to you and your family @heyitshaas
Great post, and i am surprised too that Bulls are playing good basketball. Mirotic and Bortis both have been great and playing well. Otherwise i think that Mirotic only came back on the court to get his trade done as soon as possible.
Lillard is one of my favourite NBA players and i am agreeing 100% that he deserves All-Star spot, the coreect one not decided by injury replacment.
That being said, very nice post and happy to see fellow NBA fans here.
Keep up the great work.
Thanks for stopping by! will post about the weekly surprises on Sundays! lets see where Mirotic ends up. My favorite team is the Raptors because of my season seat I had there, eventhough you see more Utah Jazz in the house;

Great work mate!
It’s always a quiet time in the NBA prior to all star break.
Hopefully we don’t see too many players being rested.
i always dislike it when they go in to tank mode or rest, like the Suns did last year
