I'm not sure why I deployed Maggots in second position, i was honestly inspired to put it there, behind the dynamic and purposeful Haunted Spirit, so I crossed my fingers and enjoyed the battle and the debut of Maggots...
Hi everyone, I recently joined Splinterlands, and I must say that I find your game very exciting and pleasant, I think it is also, in the long term, a good form of investment, allowing you to re-enter the initial cost of purchasing the cards .
The first hit misfired but the second hit and killed the poor dragon
I decided to participate in your contest on the recommendation of some Steemians colleagues, and here are some photos of my battle with the paper covered by this week's contest, Maggots.

It's a card that I think is a bit special, (although in this game it made me win) I don't think I will use it much in the future also because I still don't understand its correct use, maybe I'm wrong and it will become one of mine favorite.

Firstly, thanks for adding the battle link!
Those Maggots are proving to be pretty useful.
So... right now Maggots have 'opportunity'. This means it will strike at the WEAKEST player on the other team... at ANY TIME. It's like he has sneak and snipe and is able to attack from anywhere at any time.
Keeping the maggots protected (generally in the 3rd and 4th spots) allows them to live longer and 'finish off' the other team.
Ya got lucky this time as there wasn't anything aiming for the 2nd spot. Normally, I like to put something smooshy there (something with high health to take hits).
