Kindness is not a weakness

in #spirituality6 years ago (edited)

There is this heavy misconception of kindness being a weakness.

Many people think that when we are kind, this kindness is rooted in fear. The fear of getting punished for disobedient behavior. Hence, any act of ours will be interpreted as an act of weakness, so they will naturally attempt to ever more exploit the kindness we offer because their insatiable ego's unquenchable thirst for nipping the liquid of control and power is so irresistible that they grow blind to their deeds. Truth is, they never came to learn an inherent kindness which doesn't expect anything in return.

In their mind inherent kindness is so much linked with weakness and fear that the least thing they expect is when we suddenly switch direction and respond most fearlessly.

This is actually our job, that whenever we come into contact with such people we act inherently kindly, which they might very well exploit in every possible way because they transfer their mindset onto us. Yet finally we will most naturally come up with the most fearless response they expected least, showing them:"Your thoughts are an Illusion, they don't hold any Truth, hence are meaningless. I am not that which you think I am, and to really get to know me you have to go beyond thought and see with your Heart."

When people feel intimidated by our strength and inner Peace they will try to tear us down and break our spirit. But that is a reflection of their weakness, not a reflection of us.

The energetic intention they harbored toward us will be exactly redirected.

What follows is ego death.

Sort:

Kindness is NEVER EVER weakness. But weakness at many times can appear as kindness. when left without choice or power, one may become kind to appease those with power. At a time of desperation one may become kind as means for survival. But true kindness is kindness as a first principle; kindness as a choice.

You may find some very relevant points in the second half of this old article of mine: https://steemit.com/philosophy/@vimukthi/an-in-depth-critical-look-at-radical-transparency-and-its-challenges-pitfalls-and-the-eventual-spiritual-decay-and-the-loss-of

Thanks four your article, I took the time to thoroughly read it, and I do agree. Being taught to not think independently from early on in life is what deprives us from our power to choose our own thoughts and beliefs, which then ever more manifests into an autopilot state increasingly making ones's power and freedom of choice not an even a possibility, so outlandish this option appears to us.
Yet ultimately, the choice to not choose independently is also a choice which most people will inevitably have to take responsibility for EVENTUALLY. ;)

Amen! These choice-lessness is simply going to put things on autopilot and the result would be a completely predictable system. Basically it'll be self-induced fatalism. What makes us human is our ability to self-evolve and shift paradigms on or own. The universe doesn't compel us to create blockchains or travel to the moon. Universe doesn't compel us to meditate. We just choose to do so. I think the endings of The Matrix Revolutions and Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

The Ending was practically spelled out in the lyrics of the background music/chanting

Forgive my spoilers if you haven't seen Gurren Lagann. Watch the anime first and then watch the 2 movies which re-tell the plot in a much more grand way.

:) Thanks for the anime suggestion, I will surely have a closer look at it. The content of the spoiler is just that topic: who believes more in their power of choice? Whose belief in the power to choose is stronger? Ultimately, who believes more in the infinite Universe WITHIN? Who believes more in being the Universe?

Thanks a lot! ;)

I actually expanded these things into a post I was writing. I intended it to be short post. But it got lengthy and I feel like I only started the introduction.

Very well written my friend, glad I popped in here to read this one.

Thank you! Yeah, kindness is surely a virtue many need to relearn! :)

I agree your 100%

Kindness is a sign that you have a big heart and with this big heart you can conquer. So kindness is not a sign of weakness at all.

Well spoken and nothing to add! :)

I feel you @alexaventuria. I was in the same situation. I always being kind but the problem was that many times I’ve been to kind and in result I ended up getting hurt. This happened especially in the workplace but also with friends. I used to blame those people for taking advantage of me but I was wrong because I was expecting the same kindness in return and also I was the one allowing them to do that. I believe we always have to be kind but we also have to stand up for ourself when we realise that people misunderstood our kindness for weakness. Some people stuck in those situation because they are afraid and they don’t know how to get out of it. There are people like me who believe in abundance, who think that there is enough for everyone, but there are also people who just want everything for them self. Life is already in balance and to be so it needs both of those 2 kind of people. Thanks for sharing this thought. I wish you all the best in your journey on the Steem platform and in your life. Ciao 😊

Thanks for this elaborate and insightful comment ;)

Yes, "stand up for ourselves when we realise they misunderstood our kindness for weakness".
And doing that is exactly what people expect least because they never came to see this type of kindness. Their entire life they were conditioned to think that when they are too kind people will exploit that kindness, As a defense mechanism people will then start causing others that which they fear most, like "the best way to not get hurt is to hurt others" :/

I really like your profile, i'm also into spirituality and i do enjoy those content, so i will keep an eye on your future post.

Wonderful! Yeah, the wisdom we gain iduring our jouney of inner Soul serch is endless ;)

I totally agree.. it is never a weakness.. hence it is overused, abused and the understatement of all. when one is kind, everyone drinks from it until it becomes empty. No one will attempt to refill the kindness given. Yet, it will never be enough. They will demand for more kindness..

True! And when we take back our well-being by changing direction (which they do not expect since they think to have gotten a clear Image of us) they ego takes huge damage, avoiding self-introspection at all costs.

Its breaking point when we could not take it anymore. We need to let it out, unless you want it explode inside..

Sometimes, we need to set boundaries or limits up to what % they can make use of our being nice/kind.

yeah right but some people take advantage of it. If you are kind they try to take advantage of it. If we support each other during their hard time and care for each other the earth become more beautiful. Can you imagine it how beautiful it will be.

Brother your post on kindness is most true, but not 100% ok, all people are not same, thanks for photo which is very beautiful though not related with the post, thanks for posting
