El chon (la bendición) Chon (blessing)

El chon es un saludo  que practicaba mi bisabuela, una abuelita que tenía más de 103 años.

La abuelita Maina, la abuela de mi madre, vivía campo adentro, nunca visito la ciudad, toda su vida vivió en medio de la naturaleza, no conoció hospital, sus hijos dio a luz en el mismo campo en compañía de una partera.

Todas la mañanas nos despertábamos, como primera tarea era pedir el chon a la abuela, ella permanecía sentada en una silla de madrea hecha de algarrobo, debajo de una galería de adobe y pajas, los nietos y bisnietos hacíamos una fila y pasábamos de a uno, a los más grandes les dedicaba unas palabras, al acercarte debías  decir, el chon abuela, pasabas tus manos entre sí, besabas sus manos  y ella te devolvía una sonrisa con su cigarro a un lado, chon mi hijo. Ahí terminaba la ceremonia de saludo y bendición.
