Why and what

German chancellor Angela Merkel British prime minister David Cameron and French president Nicolas Sarkozy have all declared that multiculturalism is a failure. What could his possibly mean? Let's explore.

Multiculturalism is the philosophy that every culture is morally valid and not one culture has the right to impose its values on another.

So this means if someone escapes there hell hole of a country and comes to your country to enjoy its freedoms, they shouldn't be forced to learn and accept the principles and customs on which those freedoms stand, but should instead be allowed to retain the charming native language religion and manners returned their country into a hell hole in the first place.

This system helps to avoid the cultural chauvinism implied by assimilation and instead gives you a warm sense of your own open minded tolerance right up until the moment your immigrant strap on the delightful explosives of their beloved homeland and in their quaint little way blow you to pieces.

Equal values

Broadminded ancient writers like Herodotus up to candy conquers like Alexander the great and Augusta Caesar to all embracing genius of Jesus Christ. Tolerant acceptance of different cultures has evolved into a central western value. Other cultures don't have that value of tolerance so we have to tolerate their intolerance and let them kill us.

To give an example. Say a person is a homosexual and lives in a western nation where gays are accepted and tolerated by the most straight people. Like my own country the Netherlands. If he would visit an other country, say Iran or Saudi Arabia where they hang homosexuals, then that would be right for their culture. And courtesy demands that he should participate in the local scene by being executed. Of course if he merely flies over Iran in international air space, Iranian culture wouldn't apply. Unless their culture doesn't recognize international air space. Because in that case he probably should have gone around.

Moral relativism

Multiculturalism is based on the equally sound philosophy of moral relativism which holds that nothing is absolutely right or wrong. Except that nothing is absolutely right or wrong. As Shakespeare put it: there is nothing either good or bad. Thinking makes it so.

So if one pretends to be crazy and says he’s crazy… and he gets believed, then some are crazy enough to believe the one who is crazy to be not crazy. Which is to apply that moral relativism isn't just crazy it's fake crazy. Because no one 's really crazy enough to believe it.

Your post makes some valid points while some cultures seem barbaric to us they have some base from somewhere while I try to respect every culture I believe your rights start where the next guys end your rights don't supersede someone else's and if that is what you want you should live in a theocracy where you feel comfortable and stay away from people and cultures that respect other people's rights

Culture is the way of living of a people. We are expected, as human beings to respect the culture of others.

Law says, every migrant should respect the laws of the country they find themselves. Which means if a country frowns at homosexuality, you are to obey that law irrespective of your cultural background.
Nothing says your culture is right or theirs wrong but 'cultural truth' lies in the country it is being practiced and should be respected irrespective of your view.

absolutely true in other country's except western europe... now hanging gay people may be an extreme example and that doesn't apply but it makes the point a little clear :)
