Picture Stories #143 - Sloth Story
Slots are extremely intriguing and interesting creatures!
I found this fella hanging from the branch of a tree, and I didn't hesitate to take as many pictures as I could of this unique and amazing specimen of nature. I was probably seeing a sloth in person for the first time, but what fascinated me most was being able to see its slow motion live in action. Yes, they are infamously slow in their actions! The most memorable sloth scene I can remember seeing onscreen is from the animated movie Zootopia, and if you don't know what I'm talking about you can go watch the hilarious clip on YouTube. The sloth shown in the pictures below was quite hungry, and as it slowly made its way from one food piece to another I stood there watching intently.
Apparently sloths have a very slow metabolic rate, and the food they eat doesn't provide them the kind of energy needed to move about in a faster manner. The way that these animals have evolved is certainly peculiar and odd, yet it is also this feature that makes them uniquely fascinating!
Have you ever seen a sloth?

I think they'd make a great pet, too lazy to attack or hurt us :)
haha, i've heard they can be difficult to keep as pets...
After reading your post I remembered the scene in zootopia where sloths were secretary.
yup, the slots were great in that movie :)
I've never seen a real sloth in my life. These are truly fascinating creatures as you've said!!
It was certainly a unique experience, do try to find one ;)
@jznsamuel If you ever invite us over maybe lol 😀👍
hehe i saw this in Singapore, but you are always welcome :)
@jznsamuel 🙏I'm going to hold you to it 😎👍 someday, some day...
I just don't get how they are not extinct yet. With such slow speed won't they be hunted down easily?
They are slow, they have no super strength, no spikes, no poison, they don't even hide all that well. My guess on their survival tactics would be this: they taste like garbage :o)
That may be it! Or maybe they just cling on to trees and the predators get bored and leave.
haha that's a valid point. maybe too slow for a kill, even predators need a challenge i guess :D
That probably possibly conceivably maybe definitely the reason lol
Amazing animal one
And your click so good
Well done have a good day
