Shadow Photo Contest-Rd 59: Architectural Shadow Of Cupola
Shadow on the building at the Halifax Public Gardens located in the Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia.
I toured the fabulous Gardens last May and because of the heat many people headed to this building for an ice cream and cold drink...me included.
Canon EOS Rebel T6
1/400 f/3.5 50MM ISO100
Along with the shadow created by the cupola (had to look this up...a dome-like feature projecting from the top of the building), tree branches make a shadow on the roof of the building.

The cupelo does make a interesting architectural shadow! And I'll bet the ice cream was great.
I always like the look of the cupelo, especially with a weather vane. This one seems to be designed for something different on top.
Yes, great ice cream. 😊
Several of the big old houses around on the prairie have cupolas on top and I was told that they were originally designed as lookouts for approaching danger. I suppose prairie fires could be seen for miles from up there.
I’ve heard them described as lookouts for foxes. 🦊 Must be because of the chickens 🐓 on the farm.
They would be a good vantage point for seeing a lot of things! I always wished for one to use as a secluded reading nook!
I can't get Francis Ford 'Cupola' out of my head now 😂
😂, Does sound Italian.
