The Seven Day B&W 📷 Challenge - Day #2 - Basket Tiger

Must be some kind of basket case.

The mighty bengal tiger stirs from his slumber. The many metal hues of his fur shimmer in the light. Delicate pink coloring on the inside of the ear and a rich chocolate colored fluffy basket complement this symphony of saturation. And then there are those EYES! Shiny like a perfect emerald, as green as the fields of Ireland! They truly do pierce right through your soul. But you know what they say, to dogs we are their masters...for cats we are just staff.

Of course you can see none of this because it's all in black and white.

Colacao or "Cola" is a humorous and fluffy bengal cat and I live in his realm. He was a rescue 7 years ago and I've had him since he was very little. An amazingly empathic, clever and cheeky creature, he makes every day a little bit fluffier. What do you guys think about getting the #animalsofsteemit tag going?

This is my second entrance into the #sevendaybnwchallenge. Thanks for the nomination by both @mammasitta and @shinyforest! I hope you guys are satisfied with my first challenge!

Today's nominee is @Shlomit! Let's see what you can come up with.

You didn't think this would work without cats did you?

Merry Christmas!

@zanoni
Thank you so much!
One of my favorite Ice Cream Parlours here is called "Zanoni" so I immediately associate your name with something tasty ^^

Hehehe, really? That's funny...
The origin of the name Zanoni comes from a book title...

A very nice book about a magician, his name is Zanoni

Meow! I was wondering... could anyone be more insanely creative than you? This post is hilarious. Lovely and sweet, too. Must be nice in Colacao's realm ;)

Thank you my friend that is very kind! Fortunately at the moment he is still tolerating his human underlings so living is good at the moment. I figure we can inject a bit of spice even into these kind of challenges that I usually do not take part of. :) I'm sure it's a gateway to many other cool contests on steemit. Have you heard of any more things like that @shinyforest and you guys?

Hahaha! Hm... Maybe I will take part in some writing contest in the future, there's this 5 min writing challenge and there also are short story contests, have you seen any of them that have caught your attention? I think your writing entries would be mind-blowing. I'm speaking from experience hah. Also, I would love to organise a contest myself, but it's a project for an unspecified future. What do you think about the perspective of organising a challenge/contest yourself (I am still working on my guide for minnow users, and some new tutorial, so this may take ages in my case).

Writing contests you say? Now that I think about I did see some of those floating about in the feed. I'm not quite sure if the internet/blockchain is ready for my completely unfilitered thoughts yet. For all The Office buffs I leave this:

I have thought about organising our own challenges and contests yeah. I've tucked a couple of SBD aside for this purpose. You figure out a direction you want to go in with the contest (genre, styles, theme) and how to pick a winner (most votes? picked by a jury?) and then you let it run for a couple of days. I'm happy to help you should you choose to organise one but I have thought about it. What do you think?

Haha! Creed! Would be lovely to rewatch the Office, although first I think I should finish watching the British version of it. Thanks for reminding me about it :)

Well, I'm sure I'll try to organise some drawing contest, but this is still a matter of some rather distant future. Like, month/s. I think I'll work it out just like you said above- theme, method of picking winners. Thank you for your readiness to help, I'll be glad to help as well if you decided to organise your own contest/challenge! And I'm sure I'll want to participate in it as well, hah ;) I think this is a good direction in general, I see many prominent Steemians regularly organising contests of different shapes and sizes (to my delight), sometimes there's a team, sometimes one person... I'll want to check out all the different options for sure! But I haven't thought much about details yet. So I guess this is a topic for future discussions ;)

Developing something like a contest or activity shouldn't be a problem. Have done it before on facebook, twitch and various websites. As long as you keep up your end of the bargain and try to be as objective as possible while picking a winner it usually goes pretty well. I'm glad you would participate!

You know I think we can speed the information gathering stage up a bit, I'd like to ask some people their opinion in this thread if you don't mind?

Of course! Please do :) Meow!

Ok let's summon some Djinns (hope it's alright guys):

@mammasitta You seem to have your pulse on things. Do you think having an additional art contest would be a useful thing? What kind of themes/genres would you like to see?

@jaynie You got your community management nailed. How do you think the #steemitbloggers would react to it? If we do this could we plug it there?

@mikepm74 You have given me solid advice before. Perhaps you know something about "best practices" and successful planning of community events like this?

@shinyforest You are an artist with some contest experience. What kind of ideas/genres do you prefer or is it more of an "instinct" thing which kinda contest you are attracted to?

Personally I'd lean more into hosting an Illustration/Concept Art kinda thing and less Fine Art. I kinda like #imaginarycreatures on reddit or the "Inktober" initiative and things like that. Should be something where you can really go nuts in a creative way but still bound to a unifying theme.

Thanks for your time guys, hope we can get a conversation going!

Also... meow!

Meowli Meow.

Ah that cat looks Ninja boss waiting to strike :D

He's the man! Sometimes I really do think he is a ninja...at the very least he can teleport.

Your work ain't too shabby either!

Thank you for the tag!
And your cat is gorgeous ^_^

Hihi you are welcome! You seem creative so I wanted to test you a little.
He sure is, such a fluffbear.

You have pets too I see! What are their names?

Yes, my 2 little rescue fluffies- Miki & Aida :)
They are pretty big on instagram :D

Aww rescues! Well done you. Mr. Cat was rescued too ^^
What's their name on Instagram?

Dude you should check out steepshot.io which is the Steemit equivalent of Instagram. It's basically just a different overlay but perhaps it's worth checking out?

Where was he rescued from?
Their instagram name is @prince_miki
Thanks for the recommendation, I'll deffinitely check it out! These guys are doing so well on IG, so if it's any indication, they will finally be able to pay for their own vet bills! :D That would be so nice.. ;D

He was found in Spain together with two siblings all alone when they were tiny. They were then brought to Hallein close to Salzburg. That's where I picked him up :)

Oh, poor little cuties, I hope his siblings were also so lucky!

Yeah! His brother also ended up in Vienna afaik. I think his sister found a home close to Salzburg!
