Season Challenge: Early Signs Of Winter

in #seasonchallenge5 years ago (edited)

Winter doesn’t officially arrived until Dec 21 but it has looked and felted like it arrived a few weeks ago.

Another snowstorm yesterday. There is more snowfall now than all of last winter.

I looked out the kitchen window to this wonderland of white this morning. Hubs has already shovelled some snow away from the walkway and will use the snowblower later to clear the driveway.

This is a view at the back of house from the deck.

My poor little pine tree is loaded with snow and the branches are drooping.

This is a heavy clingy snow. All tree branches are hanging low with the weight.

I am happy the temperature is staying above freezing.

Snow doesn’t bother the Blue Jays. They came by for their morning treat.

This jay is waiting on the back deck railing so I can see him. Birds are smarter than we think. They know I have a soft spot for my tiny feathered friends & animals...if I see them I will put out some food to help them through the colder season.

Wow. That certainly looks like winter, no matter the calendar.

My friend and partner from PEI has given me some updates. She is now in her third trimester and starting to waddle (her word). When she first told me she was pregnant I commented that her timing was great, have that baby well before summer and that misery. Now I'm not so sure :)

Great pictures of your friend the Jay. I get to see them some on my travels but they are really exotic here in SW Arizona. I just love them...

Thanks so much for stopping by Tom @bigtom13. Congrats on the baby news! I do love the Jays...they are the provincial bird of PEI.

Thank you for this wonderful entry, my dear. It seems the winter has entered into its rights. We had heavy snowing too. Yesterday I had to walk to the office as traffic was jammed due to snow. It was a beautiful walk although wearing boots at work is not very pleasant.
I love these funny blue jays. They are so friendly. Just like our finches. 😍

Thanks Roxy @roxy-cat for your lovely comments. The snow has been relentless here the last two days but this morning finally stopped falling and blowing around. You will have to keep a extra pair of shoes at work if you have to wear boots to get there. It’s probably safer to walk. 🤗

I know what a snow storm means. 😔 And now we have two days of bitter cold. For Christmas though, it will rain. A really messed up weather.
I keep my warm boots at work too. The building where our offices are refuses to keep heat if it's not summer. And I will definitely keep walking as I set a personal goal of 10k steps daily. 🙂

With all the snow right now, I just heard on the weather news that heavy rain and a day of warm weather may take the snow by Christmas Day. I’ll believe it when I see it...will enjoy a warm day though. 😊 🌞
Good for you to keep up the daily 10K steps. Sorry your office is not keeping heat. It’s hard to dress warm if you have to look fashionable at the office.

This is the good thing about my job: I'm part of a team where fashion is our last concern. The guys are all about coding and debugging. Office outfit means a decent t-shirt (no nsfw mesaages), jeans and snikers. I'm afraid that wearing a short skirt and high heels might burn their circuits. 😂

😂. Good one Roxy. My chuckle for the day. 😜 😂 I was going to say wear long underwear under your jeans to keep warm.

Yeah... Maybe some woolen thermals. 😂
