This tiny robot could one day work inside the human body.
It could unclog arteries, transport drugs, and help patch wounds.
There are other tiny robots designed for similar purposes but non have Millirobot's flexibility of movement.
Millirobot is less than 1/4 inch long.
It is almost 100% elastic silicon.
Using magnets, the two ends come together and release to move the bot.
Just like the way an inchworm moves.
Microscopic magnetic particles are embedded within the robot's body.
And an external magnetic field can produce many motions.
The device has completed obstacle courses:
by crawling through pipes, hopping over gaps, swimming, lifting objects, and even climbing stairs.
With these abilities, Millirobot could do hard work in the body.
